It's about to get real in North Charleston.

White cop shot a fleeing black suspect 5 times in the back. The cop then takes the stun gun (which he reports that the suspect took from him) and drops it by the suspect. The officer then handcuffs the mortally wounded suspect and stands around (even though the police report states that he attempted to give the suspect CPR). The cop probably gets away with executing the guy, but he didn't notice someone video taping the incident. The cop has been charged with murder, so that probably keeps the protests down somewhat, but I don't think I would want to be in North Charleston anytime soon.

Are probably 2 different things. I doubt he wants to "kill blacks" but it is also possible that his racial bias made it much easier for him to shoot a fleeing black man. It's really impossible to tell either way.

The copious amount of crimes and high crime rate in Up Chuck is reported extensively. And that has nothing to do with a cop gunning down an unarmed man in the back. We expect criminals to commit crimes. We expect police to be above that.

Try being a cop in these high crime area's. I'm sure they get jumpy and skitish. They are human after all. While I agree some shootings are not required, just as I'm sure the same happens to whites that are killed by cops but we never hear about those b/c they are black and don't make the headlines.
The Ferguson killing, even tho there was no weapon doesn't mean the killing wasn't called for.
Now shooting in the back seems like it probably is murder.
You are the type of people who are so anti-cop that you couldn't pay me enough to risk my life for people like you.

Lemme tell ya somethin', puddin'. I've worked closely with more cops in one year than you ever will in a lifetime. I've got three good friends who are cops. I can tell you that about 95 percent of police officers are great, upstanding people who do a phenomenal job. I've worked with many of them who I admire very much for what they do. And many of those officers are/were NCPD cops.

But I also recall a time when NCPD cops killed a man and probably would have gone to jail for it if we had cell phone cameras back then. It was about 12 years ago.
My point is that we expect criminals to act terrible, and yes, I fully understand that NCPD cops are outgunned. I've been in their evidence room. I know. But we hold police officers to a higher standard, and incidents like this must receive more scrutiny. The crime rate in Up Chuck is irrelevant when something like this incident occurs. There is no excuse, and I would think you agree.
But you somehow interpreted that I'm anti-cop by the above post? Honestly, you have to be one of the most unintelligent people I've ever encountered on Tigernet over the years, and that's saying a lot. I was called anti-cop after posting the above story to my fb and commenting that the trooper didn't do his job correctly. I mean several people bashed the crap out of me. "You have no clue what you're talking about," blah blah blah.
Well a few days later, the officer was fired. And he should have been.
He didn't follow protocol and look for that girl. He assumed she was a drunk that left her wrecked vehicle...it won't his job to assume that. His job was to look for her.
The sad thing is many of those that attacked me have seen me post in defense of cops in the past. But since I knew that cop didn't do his job, I was anti-cop.

But that stat is valid. NCPD has a history of shooting and killing black men, and many have been unarmed over the years.
When you want good relations with your populous, it might help to have more officers who can relate to them.

interview with the Mayor, he was asked about the hand cuffs and stated that was standard procedure across the country.
I don't know that indeed is standard practice or not. I guess it could be. I want to hear more about that.

Looks like he was alive (?) as the cuffs were put on. Later in the film, it appears that the shooter picks up the item that he placed by the victim. Anyone notice that or was that a notebook or something.
N Charleston Mayor said the cop has been fired and arrested. The State police is now conducting the investigation.

He placed it by the body because he said the guy stole his tazer and that's why he shot him. He was planting evidence to corroborate his story. His story wouldn't have worked if the tazer was on the ground 20 feet away.
