The best ranking for DJ is from last season ... 97. Since a 59 rating x 2 QBs = 118
... then 118 - 97 = 21.
So does that mean that they ranked Cade the 21st best quarterback?

But DJ isn’t the only guy in orange who will run onto the field to begin the 2022 season in Atlanta!
Our football coach(es) are very well aware of the challenges that face the Tigers as we begin a new year. I suspect, without knowing, that Dabo and company are well into preparing for another championship year. Quite honestly, last year was an amazing season when you consider all the things that went bad early. Clemson is special and if the tv guys haven’t learned that, they soon will.
I’m going out on a limb and predicting that this will be one of the better Tiger teams to run down the hill.

I would trust Rattler more than DJ. I don't know who will be better this year, but on the surface if Rattler and DJ were in a QB battle right now and both were at Clemson, I would trust Rattler a little more at the moment.

That's crazy, Rattler had a TON of weapons and couldn't do anything with them against defenseless teams in the Big 12. DJ had a the Dabos son & Hamp Greene to throw to by seasons end for God's sake! Yes he had a bad season but he was being blocked by an OL that couldn't stop a runny nose. All while playing on 1 leg and a broken index finger on his THROWING hand. How do you expect a 1st yr starter to deal with all those adversities and have an outstanding year? Yall got to give him a chance to right the ship. We all saw what he is capable of against ND in '20. Let's support a fellow Tiger who has been nothing but humble and a true Clemson man.

I guess they are basing it on DJ having one of the worst QB ratings in FBS last year, and Cade being an unproven true freshman. Still, on talent alone I think our ranking deserves to be higher.

We can only hope at this point that a returning starter at QB is not our weakest link on the team. If DJ can just get back to playing football with a lot better footwork, he will be fine.
