All I see is they are saying that's most likely, but they have low confidence in that determination.

say this. That's really it, nothing else has changed, other than the director, and the director's boss. There's low confidence and insufficient evidence for both guesses. And that's about how it will be forever.

I happen to agree with the new CIA guess though, if you put a gun to my head and told me to guess only one.

My reasoning:

1)the market was closed, AND the animals were sent home. If the market was the origin, as claimed, they would have quarantined every human being in the vicinity, and every animal in the market, and tested them all. That didn't happen.

2)No animal host has been found

3)Antibodies existed in European blood samples dating back to October

4)Wuhan - Pandemics don't start like this started in Wuhan. They don't just jump from an animal to a human and explode like covid did. There has to be a time for evolution to fine tune the virus. The pandemic started with a virus that was just a little too well-adapted to humans.

5)China's secrecy and lack of candor.

My best guess? An accidental lab leak of an imperfect virus. Probably around August of 2019, maybe a few months earlier. Likely a sick lab worker tipped China off very early, but the worker had already spread the virus.

The assessment was completed during the Biden administration. All the new director did is declassify. He did not “”make up” anything. He basically says the American people deserve to see the assessment and we do deserve that!

We can't see the assessment without divulging assets and tactics. But they can pick a guess, one way, another or neither. No new facts or information have surfaced.

SO IF THEIR GUESS CHANGES, that's a choice based on a policy change, not a change in the facts.

According to the NYT, the CIA's position was reached during the final days of the Biden presidency, under CIA director Burns. Burns did not release this to the public. John Ratcliffe, the new CIA chief released the conclusion of the CIA under Burns to the public.

The FBI under Christopher Wray and the DOE separately came to the same conclusion that a lab leak was the most likely source for COVID and released this conclusion months ago.

Despite the opinions of the FBI, CIA and the DOE, no one knows 100% for sure where COVID originated from, but one thing is for sure, it was total BS and potentially a CYA move for Fauci to attempt to discredit others of the possibility that COVID originated from the Wuhan lab.Even he now admits that it's possible this did not originate from a wet market.

Ratcliffe simply made public the conclusions of the CIA under his predecessor, albeit the CIA gave this a low confidence conclusion which means they could be wrong.

I think the lab leak is plausible…but the CIA didn’t admit anything new…basically the same thing the FBI said a few years ago. I know it is being presented/spun this way…but this is not some new smoking gun admission by the CIA.

But... "lab leak" was intentionally branded "conspiracy" by the fact checkers and narrative media for a couple of years because the Corporate Media almost always accepts what comes out of Government bureaucrats as absolute truth.

Early on the bureaucrats in NIH (particularly Dr. Fauci) wanted to pigeon hole the "lab leak" as mindless conspiracy in order to keep people from looking too close into the NIH's funding of COVID gain of function research through Peter Daszak and his EcoHealth Alliance non-profit.

So Peter Daszak, who was up to his eyeballs in COVID gain of function research at Wuhan orchestrates a Lancet publicized memo to cast lab leak as conspiracy and does so with the approval of Fauci and numerous other go-along scientists. A couple months later, as it just happens by pure coincidence - Peter Daszak is designated as the US Rep for the WHO funded Lancet COVID-19 Origin Investigation team where they are dismissive of the "lab leak" origin. Nothing like having the murderer investigate their own murder....

Eventually the coverup, conflicts of interest, and illegal behavior start to unravel for Daszak to the point the HHS has now disbarred Daszak and EcoHealth Alliance from getting any more US funds for 5 years. Thanks to Biden, Fauci now has a "pre-emptive" pardon to protect him from his participation in the gain of function stuff but Peter Daszak sure as h.ell doesn't and needs to be held accountable:

It's not that they weren't admitting it. They were saying they didn't know for sure. Now they say they do. Big deal. It got out of a lab and infected people. What's the crazy story here? That can happen.

One problem is his Fauci and others viciously denied that a lab leak was even possible. If we argue that it was too early to call it a lab leak then it must have been too early to deny the possibility.

That's false though. Fauci said it was possible.

"I have a completely open mind about that, despite people saying that I don’t,” Fauci said, when asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” about the theory that the virus may have leaked from a lab in China in 2019.

actively discouraged or outright sought to bury the lab leak and anyone who supported it. They did so with the help of Social Media and their allies in the Corporate Media. Why they wanted to keep the lab leak from gaining traction I don't exactly know though I imagine $Chinese$ influence can't totally be ignored as part of that equation.

https://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/5058339-biden-administration-suppressed-dissent/

The COVID-19 lab leak is but one example of the problem with having our Government knee deep (directly and through proxy organizations) as the "fact checkers" and the arbiters of "misinformation". The Government has proven they will stifle opposing narratives or outright lie if it suits their purpose or protects the bureaucracy.

Unfortunately our Corporate Media has aligned themselves with the DC Swamp ecosystem and have proven they are all too happy to spout the Governments narrative as "truth" without really doing their own independent homework of the facts. When they do call out the Government - it is usually based on ideological differences to establish their own narrative in support of their bias. Just one of the many reasons the Corporate Media's influence is declining among the citizens and their power is heading toward irrelevance.
