Do I agree with all of it? Nope. There needs to be some rules laid down. But I swear the opposite of what I expected to happen has happened. Maybe it’s because teams with highly paid players just have a bunch of selfish players that don’t care about the “team”. Not really sure what it is. But I do know that it almost seems like Dabos way will win out in the end.

Teams like Alabama can't stockpile talent as easily now, because good players that get stuck on the bench can just transfer to another school where they can start. Almost every P4 school has enough NIL money for at least a few decent players, and some of the G5s do too. Players are more willing to go to traditionally less successful schools if they're getting paid and they get to play.

One of the most specific reasons - Clemson, Ohio State and Alabama used to keep 3-4 blue chip qbs on the bench. Those days are long gone and those kids are making plays at other schools.

Less about the Portal and NIL ...IMO and more about technology.

Having helmet communication for the coordinators to talk to one offensive, defensive and special teams player was a huge upgrade.

Add to that now having real time All 22 via Ipads to coach up on the sideline is just as important.

This has been a very fun season to watch, a smaller gap between top and bottom P4 teams means more chaos and upsets which is good for college football. It makes for a much more interesting product than going into games where most of the time the outcome is a foregone conclusion

Portal has certainly helped Pitt with the QB issue. The kid they picked up is very good in their system.

I'd say it turned things around for Syracuse and Miami as well.

You have to have really deep pockets to keep two blue chip quarterbacks on the roster like Texas. Ewers and Manning both require a lot of cash.

If you invest in the wrong blue Chip, that wrong choice stifles your program

If your blue Chip quarterback takes two years to develop like Cade Klubnik, that means you have to wait for two years.

not many schools are gonna have the deep pockets to keep large numbers of stars
