If anything football is growing. A slightly smaller talent pool won't be noticed.

So you're going to blame CTE findings on liberals?

People can do whatever they want with the evidence. If you consider studying the negative effects of football as an attack, I assume you get upset about a lot of stuff

I'm sorry your American things are being attacked. I'm sorry there may be evidence that banging helmets together may not be good for one's brain and former players are killing themselves. The science is attacking your hobby..

A lot of hobbies are dangerous. If you are worried about saving lives go stand in front of a convenience store and protest the sale of alcohol and tobacco.

As long as they are giving out $100 million+ contracts people will take the risk.

but a sport like boxing, where the goal is to give the guy a concussion, is fine.

You don't understand why a sport with a small following like boxing isn't being scrutinized?***

"Like boxing" includes all fighting sports, including, but not limited to MMA fighting which together with boxing generates billions of dollars in revenue each year, and has hundreds of millions of fans across the globe. I understand where your 40% pulse comes from, you offer absolutely nothing to the conversation.

There is a lot of money to be made in football. It will take a lot of successful lawsuits and a lot of negative public opinion. Given the cash cow that football is, it would make a lot of sense for the NFL, NCAA et al to get in front of the CTE thing and fix it.

As long as it's a big money-maker, it's not going anywhere. Technology will allow it to evolve into something less hazardous. In the meantime, expect a lot of meaningless bluster- not belittling the problem, just the available solutions. Would take an act of congressional political suicide to get rid of it and there is not that much moral fiber on either side of the aisle.
