Pj just didnt have it today. At the line to cut it down to 1 possession with a few minutes left, and he misses both FT's. We cant afford to have pj start a shooting slump. Hopefully this was just a one game deal. It doesnt get any easier from here with VT on the road. Sucks to start off w/ 3 of our first 4 acc games on the road. Hopefully this was our 1 home loss similar to lst year.

3 of 4 at home wouldnt have helped though if this is how we are going to play. Bad shooting can happen but stupid shot selection is another matter. Hit a few midrange then ignore it and go back to pumping up 3's and especially from some people that shouldnt shoot threes

Most of the 3 pointers we shot today were good, open shots. Just didn’t fall. Girard had 2 open looks in the same possession at one point and didn’t make either. Those are shots he normally makes. PJ couldn’t buy a bucket and Schieffelin missed a few at very close range. Very tough day shooting - especially since we were at home.

So it was PJ’s fault. Another flawlessly written game plan from Brownell but the player failed him as usual. No other coach would have possibly had a better outcome with the same squad. Got it.

No it was not pj halls fault. It was a team effort. We missed tons of open 3's. They made their open 3's and also made contested ones.
If we shoot say 25% from 3, we have a comfortable lead most of the game and likely win. If the 3pt percentages were flipped, we blow them out.
It is what it is. Are you saying that we didnt miss many open 3's?

That's what playing against better coaches does to a team when he understands what the other coach will do in about every situation...

It does not help when coach gives up with a minute to go. Who does that?

Brad balled up in the corner and gave up. The players gave what they had, coach, not so much. I have seen teams overcome a 6 point lead with 10 seconds.

Two good teams in a slugfest. Both teams came in averages of 82ish pts per game. Listening to the heels pregame keys. Stay in jg3 pocket, baycott , keep pj frustrated Keep it low scoring
Pretty much sums it up. Won't be surprised to see this match-up again in the acc championship.

It was a very physical game and the refs let them play for the most part.

With how Clemson has shot the ball it was only natural an off night would happen.
UNC did a great job of making Girard a non factor and Bacot wore down and frustrated Hall.
With that sort of shooting effort I'm surprised they kept it close for as long as they did. That's a credit to their scrappiness and not giving up throughout the game.

Judge you spin with the best of em’. That Pitt game on the road was 34 days ago!
That gave us a reset to give us 3 of the next 5 at home.

Season? Probably the worst shooting game we’ve had in 20 years.
