Just speaking on the RB but they took in quite a few transfer RB’s this cycle so not really a surprise there.

I can remember a Kiffin interview a couple years back when he supported Dabo and only wanted to use the TP as needed. Over the past 2 years, Kiffin did a full 180 and is headed to rival Deion.
Ole Miss had the 247 rated #1 Transfer class this year with 23 transfers coming in.
I agree that other schools using the TP can be a selling point during recruitment, but, the key is being able to maintain decent NIL to keep the top recruits on campus.

It ruining college football and he doesn’t like it. However, he goes along as he feels he has to to be successful at Ole Miss. There are a number of others doing the same. Norvelle wanted to do the same at FSU - wanted to just use the TP initially to fill holes, build the program faster due to coaching change. He’s learning the same thing in that once you start using the portal, you become more reliant on it and HS recruiting becomes more difficult. Dabo still holding out. Still TBD if either gains a consistent advantage on the field between the different approaches.

They are being out bid by other schools. It's whoever the highest bidder is for some of these recruits.
