As a league we are without representation in the CFP because our conference has been determined as an inferior conference.

Why would the Clemson's and FSU's want to stay in a conference where they can literally win every game and still be left out of the playoff.

I understand that this is a mute point because of the 12 team next season, but it's no secret that Clemson and FSU both deserve more revenue share than the rest of the conference.

F the ACC and it's commissioner.

(and by extension an entire conference) is the victim of a committee and not of their own dismal play against Loouvul on national TV.

And that this decision to sue the ACC is the divine right of all butthurt football programs everywhere.

It's the wrong narrative. But it's a good one.

Because when they finally do extract themselves from ACC they'll still just be a GOR orphan in search of a TV home with zero leverage because who cares if FSU wants a streaming deal? They were *undefeated going into the *ACC title game and still only pulled about *4M viewers.

So they'll go to SEC which will offer them a junior share of the revs --- prolly what theyre making now or close to it -- and a really, really, really tough path to the playoffs year-in, year-out.

But the ACC is an inferior conference. The stats of ACC vs SEC are garbage, we’re playing their bottom level teams. If you matched up 1v1 2v2 etc in the final standings of both conferences the ACC would be lucky to win 2 or 3 games at best. People need to get their heads out of the sand thinking the ACC is a “good” football conference. The ACC is going downhill in football and only going further behind due to the revenue gap. We better hope FSU is able to work out some legal way out of this that we can follow.

One team doesn’t make a conference, when we smacked Bama that wasn’t the entire ACC vs the entire SEC, it was 1v1, in years past it was us and everyone else. During the LJ years at lville it was a 3 horse race at best, but the ACC top to bottom, is inferior to the SEC. Yes the SEC has bad teams but we have more. We need to stop living in this fantasy land of the ACC being good at football top to bottom. It’s 2/3 schools that are even consistently nationally relevant and that’s it

This year was different. The ACC had a very nice year against the SEC and the games matched teams at the same level. FSU embarrassed LSU first week. The rest of the conference matched up well this year too.

Add to it the SEC schools are massive compared to the ACC which directly impacts revenue and the number of alumni.

I’m not saying it’s this way every year or the two conferences are equal but the ACC isn’t trash.

Wrong again...1/2au...had a goose egg on the board when Travis went down...#2 came in and put 58 on the board...so it just an anemic FSU team that kept them out...statistically we outplayed and they struggled all year...would keep Travis in to try to run up the score for style...they did win all their games to be fair Texas sucked and the Auburn coach got a big bonus for letting Bama win! We are Clemson and we don't need a bunch of crab eating Florida crackers screwing up the ACC like they did with their football program...sure makes oneappreciate Bobby Bowden!

Them deals were sign long before ESECPN gave the SEC all the money saved on signing the ACC deal. IMO that was a secret deal that ESECPN made with the SEC before signing the ACC to deal they presented, and once that deal was locked in, they promised the SEC huge money to stay ahead of everyone else.

And yes I believe that deal was made before the ACC signed their contract with ESECPN for the ACC network that has turned out to be a cheaply designed piece of chit, and that was part of the planned deal with the SEC also, we promise we'll never allow the ACC to have an equal chance to ever become competitive with the SEC within the next 20-25 years!!!

FSU has surely given much thought to how to finance their departure should their legal challenge be unsuccessful. It may take quite a while for the legal fog to lift, but it is hard to imagine FSU remaining in the ACC no matter the verdict. If their loss is really $30 million or more each year, they can make up this ACC departure toll in four or five years. My mind goes to the Jimbo Fisher payout. He is owed $76 million, and will get it back on the installment plan at something like $6 million per year, although none of that money is coming from Texas A&M, but rather from its backers. FSU, as a State school, is not that well-heeled, but how could the ACC say no to a similar arrangement where FSU pays back over an extended period?

I don't blame FSU for wanting out. They aspire to big time football and the ACC isn't. It is less than a full participant (1.0) in the 5.0 power conference lineup, coming in at something like .75. This long term agreement, with well over a decade to run, is imprisonment, and the ACC schools were stupid to commit to anything for 20 years. Would any school commit to not raising its tuition for two decades? FSU's departure will further weaken the ACC, and virtually guarantee that any other schools with big time football ambitions (Clemson, North Carolina and Miami) will follow suit using whatever device FSU employs to get out of jail.

My question is if FSU was the best team in the SEC and lost their starting QB, would they have been allowed in the playoffs, and that answer is Yes Yes Yes without a doubt they would have been in the playoffs with a 13-0 record, and wouldn't have mattered if they had lost their starting QB and starting RB at the same time, they would still be in the playoffs representing the SEC in a game that they had never not been a part of.

Scroll down on the link below and see every team that has played in the college playoffs since it began in 2014 to 2022. The SEC has had a team in everyone of them, and regardless of record or how many starters go down, the will continue to have a team in the playoffs especially since it's going to 12 teams. The SEC will have several teams in the playoffs from now until all ends...
