Yet people love to put themselves out there knowing there will be consequences. Different, but reminds me of LSU gymnast all over internet, never fully clothed and in provocative poses, etc...which I am 100% ok with by the way. But then somehow, she won't attend class in person because the boys look at here.

I recall late 70's early 80's at CU there were plenty of coeds that didn't mind being looked at!

Beauty Pageants have evolved out of guilt. First, sponsors were made to feel guilty for having "beauty" pageants, so they had to throw in some talent competition (not that it mattered). That wasn't enough so the contestants had to come up with a "platform"...something like ending world hunger or finding a cure for AIDS. Now that STILL doesn't satiate, so we're at the point of making the current Miss Alabama or Miss Maryland (a dude) our "ideal".

I don't think crowning someone with health issues as an "example" of what all young ladies (and apparently some men) should aspire to be. If I am overweight (and I am) I can choose to fight it (which I do) or I can simply go buy bigger clothes.

Don't attack the messenger, OrangeCoast. Attack the message. The judges threw that young lady to the dogs so they could feel better about themselves. What if she was a smoker and chose to light one up while giving her interview. Do you think the judges would have been as accommodating and accepting of our differences?
