Yeah he needs another year in college, mentally. Physically he's ready at 6'7 290, should be (hopefully considering where our S&C program is right now) 305-315 by kickoff in August. He was our best linemen last year and should be again this year.

If he weighs 290 then Deshaun weighs 225. Battle is maybe 275 currently.

You're probably right. Weigh in day was a long time ago and I'm probably getting the numbers mixed up. I just hope and pray he hits 300 to become the dominate left tackle he can be. He's agile, quick feet, tough, good hips, and not afraid to attack the defender. His only problems are mentally with dumb penalties.

Unfortunately it's more than dumb penalties with Battle, he just doesn't seem to pick up football all that well and thus a ton of missed assignments. That will get your QB hurt faster than any lack of athleticism in an OL

He's had 2 bad penalties. It's not all those bad penalties, it's the fact he didn't play competitive football until he got to Clemson. And you thinking he wouldn't get drafted is dumb, he's a stud. Coot
