No coach in history with 2 or more Natties has ever been fired

According to ChatGTP no coach in college football history with 2 two or more championships at the same school has ever been fired by the school they won those championships with WITHOUT SCANDAL (I put this in caps because a lot of Tnetters don't thoroughly read the original post). Several coaches with just 1 championship have been fired, but never two. Guys like Woody Hayes (every Clemson person should know what he did) and Paterno were multi-natty winners, but they were fired under scandal. Some of the other multi-natty winners just retired, but were never fired. If we got rid of Dabo, he would be the first.

A little different because he was old enough that they masked it as a "retirement."

Bowden had 9 consecutive years of 3+ losses, including 5 consecutive years of 4+ losses, before he was fired.
If that's your comparison, Dabo has like 3-4 more years of leash.

You don't think Dabo at least deserves more rope (meaning years) than any other coach in history to at least right the ship before we decide to hit the eject button? It'd be painful, but he's probably earned a cushion of at minimum 3 bad years.

Will he do it successfully? I'm pretty skeptical. Its not a great situation for us right now to be certain.

Yes.
Scenario where all three of 2025, 2026, and 2027 are 7 wins or less, then he should be ‘invited to leave’ or ‘offered’ a positions as IPTAY head of Members Relations immediately following 2027 season.
The decision gets tougher if, say, each of the next three seasons are 7 or 8 wins, with the 8 win season happening in 2027.
Regardless, no contract extensions without at least two appearances in ACC Championship game -or- two appearances in the expanded CFP.

Yes let's hope you are correct. Most fans don't want Dabo fired. We would rather him fix the mess he is responsible for. He hired the inexperienced coaches, he refused the use of NIL, he refused to use the portal. It's his team and it's his responsibility to fix it. I truly hope he does.

Clemson is somewhat unique from an administrative standpoint. The BOT and culture are just adverse to "firing people". Most other P4 schools would have fired Brad long before now, but, the pain of doing that for a very iffy gain is just not worth it. Brad keeps CU off the scandal page and for the BOT, that is job #1. Similarly, at the end of the day, Dabo projects the "Clemson Man" image and the BOT just doesn't want the drama of firing a coach. Everybody knows the CU staff are mostly inexperienced and haven't produced, but many of them are "Clemson Men" so they are pretty much immune to getting fired. If you notice, Dabo has only fired people when he was absolutely forced to "make a change" and even then, he really hesitated to do so.
Even after this current season, I expect the number of firings to be in the low single digits. To clean house would really break Dabo's narrative, and he has shown zero inclination to allow that to happen.
So, it's going to be a long few seasons before Mayflower shows up in Clemson.
Riley is probably toast, but beyond him you quickly get into friends and family, and those folks are basically like Dabo's uncles, brothers and sons. Has protected them so far.. can't see that changing.

Losing 3 out of 4 to the coots is unacceptable regardless of past accomplishments.
We are beyond that now.

Imagine firing the guy and then building a statue of him later. Dabo is certainly statue worthy. Dabo's built up a lot of capital and his seat shouldn't even be warm for a long time.

Where is our statue plaza? Frank and Danny haven't gotten a statue? Why would Dabo?
A very long time as fast as college football is changing? Empty seats and losing seasons and pissed off donors will fire up a coaches seat faster than anything. You have to stop the financial bleed at some point.

According to AI there have only been 24 coaches with 2 or more NC, so the pool of potentials is very very small.
A total of 24 coaches have won 2 or more national championships in Division I-A (now FBS) college football as head coaches.

What is crazy is only Meyer and Saban have won 2 or more at multiple schools since anyone on Tnet has been alive (Pop Warner doesn't count).
