Is Grisham really a good fit

Yes I know they all were playing injured last season. And honestly I'm not a huge DJU supporter. Personally I think he's slow and reminds me of Malcom Long the Gaffney High school quarterback from the late 2000's. Big body, hard to bring down, with a cannon of an arm, that lacks accuracy. However Malcom had speedy receivers at Gaffney that won him a pair of state titles. He would simply throw it up deep and Tyson Petty was usually there to catch it. Reminds me of Beaux Collins a little.
That works on the high school level. But this is not high school ball. You have safeties that don't miss assignments and play with the correct technique every play. It wasn't a surprise that the DJ to Beaux didn't work that well against opposing defenses.
This brings me to Grisham. Under Jeff Scott we seemed to always have a speedy underneath guy. Ray Ray, Artavis Scott, Rodgers, Renfrow. Grisham was a baller no doubt at Clemson and in the League. But who is he recruiting? And how is he going to rectify the absolute terrible showing his WR's had last season by adding Adam Randall who will be hurt half the season? We need more speed. Since Spiller's playing days we have always had a speedy receiver i.e. Jacoby Ford. Who is our speedster now? No one because Grisham is a terrible recruiter, just my opinion. Stay classy coots.

Facts the coach failed if Swinney has to be the starter. I don't see a bounce back year. I see a replacement happening soon.

You're an idiot.
Jun 7, 2022, 7:57 PM
[ in reply to Re: Trivia Question: Who was the WR coach when ] |
|
The same guy who recruited the players in our record setting passing year was the same guy who was mostly responsible for the kids who played in the pass suffering offense of 2021. And by the way, Tyler Grisham was involved with recruiting guys who played in both 2020 and 2021. Who other than a returning Ngata, who were our best receivers in 2021? The Collins kids. Grisham's guys, 100%.
The ONLY differences in 2019 and 2020 was the overall talent was less in 2020 (the record setting year) and the guy coaching them.
You're making it up as you go and not making any sense. Typically dumb coot. You failed.

Did you seriously say the best receivers in 21' was the Collins Kids? Ross put up 547 yards don't quote me on that but I think it's close and he was our top receiver. We had 30 drops last season and you think the Collins kids are the best? The best of what our JV squad? GTFOH dude We are known as WRU and best is the standard. How did we not have a single WR go over 1000 yrds this season? Because the recruiting has been trash for wide outs. Hopefully Grisham will turn that around. And hopefully the young Collins kids that have unlimited potential will begin to develop into draft picks.

Honestly, I first want to give you a second chance and will not call you a coot. Secondly, I think it is too early to judge Grisham on whether he is a good fit. Injuries played a huge role on the team last year. The fact that DJU is not a very fluid QB could be seen in his freshman game against ND. That was my only concern going into his sophomore year. This never was fixed and he stayed in the pocket too long and the line did a poor job of giving him enough time. This coupled with his accuracy issues, reminded me of Proctor, was another issue. Some have suggested it was due to young receivers making wrong routes. I don't know. Just know that it cannot be blamed solely on Grisham.
