Is Bill Belichick a loser and a fraud?

2

Oct 2, 2023, 2:02 PM

6 super Bowl victories i know, 9 appearances(all with brady). But the 10 years without brady he is now 80-91 in ten years 2 playoff appearances including a 40 point first round beat down.

His assistant coaches have been absolutely horrible losers as head coaches themselves, seems alot of NFL teams/owners bought into the Belichick magic narrative and thought it would rub off.

When New england drafted Mack Jones it seemed a little like the friends and family plan (Saban and Belichick worked with each other under Parcels in the NFL) I feel like Bill Walsh, Bill Parcels and even Andy Reid are better coaches than Belichick. look at all the assistants and how well they've done under Bill Walsh for example. Andy Reid made it to the NFC playoffs for a decade straight with Donovan Mcnabb. Anybody can win with a Ferrari, Ed Ogeron has a title and he can't get a job, do you think he was a good coach? what if Joe Burrow played 15 years for LSU and they won 6 championships would Ed Ogeron be a good coach.

The same could be said for Gene Chizek/Cam Newtwon at Auburn.

I've never liked him but you have to give him credit for

elevating drafting/elevating Brady, and releasing Drew whatshisname.
Also Belichick has made some masterful moves in the free agent market over the years.

He's still a good coach, but New England needs to hire a GM***

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

His job is to win football games, not develop assistants

He record indicates he is not a loser at all. I think Brady leaving along with all the free agents depleted their talent pool.

He is a GOAT who delivered

You want to be listed in the “ great” category of coaches you better have some great players.

Give Andy Reid the Panthers roster and let’s see how it goes. A lot of very good coaches out there that are just not in good situations personnel wise.

Brady can give a lot of credit to those around him, and I’m sure he has. He had some stellar OLines and a few good WR’s and TE’s as well.

I liken an Assistant Football Coach watching the master at work, learning everything he does and then getting his own HC position and falling flat on his face to a golfer watching Tiger Woods play for years and then go onto the course to play the game himself and cannot break 80. Just because you sit and watch an individual who is gifted perform, does not mean you will be able to do it at the same level if given the opportunity.

Pretty much nobody wins in the pros or college without good to great QB play.

Not a fan of Belichik but what is he supposed to do with that roster? It is, top to bottom, awful outside of Judon and Stevenson
Even the best of coaches need some talent

Its a good talking point bc most sports fans

either love him or hate him.....but at the end of it all, the guy is one of the best ever. Brady is great but there is so much more to their team and success than just Brady. Its the entire body of work and the perfect mix of everyone.

Yes, alot of coaches do win with Ferrari's....including our own Dabo Swinney...you could argue he only won with generational QBs and keeping BV around so long....also, his assistants who have taken other jobs have not been very good at all....do I beleive that, no.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Same has been said about Dabo

Oct 2, 2023, 4:55 PM

He won b/c he had generational qb talent and he had Chad Morris and CBV as his Coordinators. That may be the case but he is the Head Coach. It's his team. It's his victory(ies)

Right now, Bill is just chasing Don Shula

Oct 2, 2023, 10:25 PM

However, being 71 years-old, very doubtful he catches him.

He lost his fastball years ago. The year he made Matt Patricia co-offensive coordinator is where ole Bill officially jumped the shark.

Hes like other great coaches who won multiple championships.

Guys like Phil Jackson and Gregg Popovich. They look brilliant when they have teams littered with hall of famers who are among the best to ever play their position. When they don’t have that huge talent advantage, they are like any other coach who struggles to win games.

Even the best coaches aren’t going to win much without great talent. You know the saying, it’s mostly about the Jimmy’s and Joe’s, not the X’s and O’s.

with Matt Cassel as his starter and as HC of the Cleveland Browns. Arguable that Parcells was a better HC–
