IPTAY Sugar Bowl Tickets
Dec 4, 2017, 1:52 PM
|
|
Any idea of what the minimum priority value will be for Sugar Bowl tickets? I thought they did a good job last year in the National Championship game distributing tickets evenly. I know it may not be possible to give everyone a ticket that requested one, but hopefully this request are not front loaded with those with higher points.

from an e-mail yesterday:
For more information on the bowl and events – you can visit our 2018 Bowl Central, which will be updated with more information in the coming days and weeks. The Sugar Bowl website – www.allstatesugarbowl.org – is also a good resource of information as you make plans.
We’re excited to again provide an opportunity for every IPTAY donor with more than 16 points who made their ticket request prior to the Nov. 30 deadline to purchase at least a pair of tickets through the Clemson Ticket Office. We received requests for more than 16,000 tickets and have 12,491 total tickets available through our allotment. After accounting for staff, band and player-guest tickets, we’ll distribute 10,000 tickets to IPTAY donors. Fans wishing to purchase tickets who either did not meet the request deadline or have fewer than 16 total points can utilize the Sugar Bowl Ticket Exchange through TicketMaster.
Ticketmaster is the Official Fan-to-Fan Ticket Exchange of the Allstate Sugar Bowl, and serves as the only resale marketplace able to offer real fans Ticketmaster Verified Tickets.
Fans who made requests prior to the deadline and have more than 16 IPTAY points will receive a confirmation email from the Clemson Ticket Office shortly as their requests are processed.

That's great. For some reason, I have not received that email. Good to know they are making an effort to fulfill as much as possible.

each person can obtain in order to make tickets available to those with lower point totals.
As an example, a person with 800 priority points (which is a lot) will be limited to eight (8) tickets while a person with 200 priority points will be limited to just four (4) tickets.

It will depend largely on how many tickets are allocated...

I was shocked to learn that Clemson will only receive 12,500 tickets for the Sugar Bowl considering the Dome seats 76,500.
I thought each school would get at least 25,000 tickets.

That I can not answer for sure, but from the Email I received from IPTAY a few minutes ago, it sounds like they have more request for NC game tickets than the allotment of 20,0000.

Only for the Sugar Bowl. Nothing yet for NC game. See below for Sugar Bowl:
IPTAY Priority Point Limits
1,500+ priority points – no more than 14 tickets
1,000-1,499 priority points – no more than 10 tickets
750-999 priority points – no more than 8 tickets
450-749 priority points – no more than 6 tickets
200-449 priority points – no more than 4 tickets
16-199 priority points – no more than 2 tickets
1-15 priority points – will not be receiving tickets

Here is the part of NC game:
What about the National Championship?
If we advance to the National Championship Game, the Clemson Athletic Ticket office will receive 20,000 tickets in our allotment. Ticket limits will be implemented utilizing IPTAY Priority Points, as the number of ticket request has exceeded the total allotment. IPTAY donors who made a request for the National Championship game will be notified of these limits by December 15.

but if the University does receive 20,000, roughly 17,000 of those would likely be available to IPTAY members.

Of the allotment of 12,500. We have 219 Priority points, requested 3 and probably won’t get them. Too many folks get their full allotment to sell and make money. Which sucks.

FWIW, my parents got confirmation yesterday about an hour after the announcement. Not sure what that means for those that didn’t. Do you have an option to turn it down? I thought if you applied and got them you had to buy them.
