Sometimes you just have to face the facts. If Dabo played DJ over Cade it wasn't because DJ was the better of the two it had to be for some other reason.
It doesn't matter who coaches DJ or if he never has another coach. His problem in in his head.

So progression might be the wrong word, but he was a recruiting bust (and a athlete/parent decision bust) coming to a program with zero ability or desire to change their offense to one that suited his limited mobility, pure drop-back style of play. He wouldn’t have come off as such a dud methinks if he were in a system that fit him better.

It seemed at some times he was so confounded by his imagination that he couldn't make accurate assessments of the situation. He never was consistent at hitting a crossing route other than throwing it where the receiver could only get a finger tip on the ball.
DJ was a bust. How he maintained his sanity with his daddy hovering was a feather in his war bonnet.

You say that like we threw more than 10 or 15 crossing routes all season. 
Alls I’m saying is that the kid was great I’m sure dropping back and throwing dimes against high school DB’s, and maybe that would have translated to the next level within the same system, where he just had to hand it off or go through a couple progressions and pass. He’s not a runner though, and mental processing power required to think about designed runs and RPO decisions clearly just shut his mind down, and we have clearly shown that our QB development curve for new recruits here isn’t going to make drastic changes in anyone’s game.
I look at it like this. I can fix most things on a car, as can you. You could put me in a mechanic’s bay with 80k people watching me and a short window to finish the job and I’ll be done more often than not, with a properly fixed car. If you ask me to fix the car AND make a perfect ice sculpture in the same window, the customer is going to show up to find their car still half apart and a giant puddle of melted ice on the floor.

that what Ooey's uncle says means anything at all. Ooey regressed. He regressed under Street. He regressed in SC. He regressed on grass. He regressed when the sun came up. What of that was at fault is something Ooey's uncle doesn't know anything about. If a Manning claimed to have an authoritative opinion, I would listen.
My observations tend to line up with yours, btw. That should cause you to recheck yours, perhaps.

Of mouthy coattail riding relatives that seem to be plentiful in his family, no doubt. With that said, he’s not saying anything we haven’t seen here since Stoudt, who got better in his final bowl game alone. Watson, Bryant, Lawrence, DJ——all of them either stayed relatively static to their starting levels, or worse, regressed somewhat.
It’s been well documented in the NFL that DW and TL had to almost have their Clemson tendencies unlearned to be NFL capable QB’s. A QB mill we ain’t.

You might be right there too, but I'm not sure. On the pro Streeter side one might say:
- We do know Stoudt had a monster bowl game after some time under Street.
- His next two QB's are among the best in the league.
- More than a few 5 star QB's don't even get drafted. Nothing more iffy than QB.
- All QB's have a learning curve from college to pro. If a guy is at near all pro performance in his 2nd year, he came prepared. We have two in a row.
What aspects are caused by what? Nothing is more difficult than matching effect to cause. Which is why we have the internet. My own guess is that Streeter is a good QB coach, jury still out on OC. But that's an observation from a mile away.
You might be entirely right. I am looking forward to reading your further observations from the game.
