Interesting take from OSU fans - need big substitutions?

Dec 13, 2013, 11:50 AM

The first few Q&A items in this post seem unanimous that in order to be able to defend the Clemson offense new players and new strategies are needed. Nothing could upset that apple cart more for OSU than to bring on so much new stuff for the bowl game. Could spell disaster if it doesn't work out of the gate and we've had a chance to adjust.

But everyone in the sports world agrees that OSU defense will most likely be weak against our offense.....well, our offensive POTENTIAL. We still have to play at the top of our game.

Oh, and some will probably get aggravated about the one guy's opinion about playing a lowly 2 loss ACC team....

they should play more ranked teams and see how many losses

Play more ranked teams comments are dumb

About OSU.

The Big Ten has been weaker lately, but no weaker than the ACC lately.

In the last 10 years OSU has played USC, Texas in home and homes. They scheduled Miami who ended up sucking. They scheduled Cal this year who ended up sucking. Vanderbilt was on the schedule this year and backed out. Coming up they play Oklahoma.

Everyone complains they are overrated, because they are 1-2 on NC games, but they have 6 BCS wins, 3 more than the entire ACC combined, and most in history.

Bottom line is that Clemson may win, but accusing them of ducking tough competition is stupid.

Most of the comments are targeted at THIS year

While OSU is a storied program, the point is that they haven't really been tested much this year except by MichSt. We've been tested 3 times and failed on 2, but have the skills and coaching if those can congeal and make it happen.

Most everybody admits that OSU's very powerful offense is offset by key weaknesses in defense which have been obvious in both lesser games and the key MichSt matchup.

So, when OSU fans at the link I posted 'complain' about having to play a "2 loss ACC team" (shriek!!!), turnabout is fair play. They haven't exactly burned it up against a weak field. This year....

a coot saying a team should be judged by their history. ironic.***
