Interesting perspective on the Cheezit Bowl

Dec 29, 2022, 9:19 PM

We were leaving at 5:30 to come to the Upstate, so we listened most of the game on SXM 84, with a Sooner crew calling the game. I don’t listen to many games on the radio any more, and am not sure if I’ve ever listened to 3+ quarters of a game that didn’t involve the Tigers. I guess it’s true of any team, including Clemson, but man those announcers were homers. Questioning every call that didn’t go their way, accusing players of faking every time there was an injury…

Then we got to the house in time to catch the last 5 minutes or so on TV. I am not sure who the announcers were, but it was like music to my ears to hear impartial commentary.

Very fair both ways and they were very informative on the play breakdown. What both offenses and defensive sides were doing. Impressive.

Listened to the same call. How could the officials consistently take away 2-3 yards away from the Sooners on nearly every spot of the ball?

And any call that went their way was unquestionable. When fans protested calls, they said “they obviously don’t know football”. It is a shame that XM can’t get the actual TV commentary. Not a very enjoyable listen…except for the comedic value.

Bob Wischusen on the call and Dan Orlovsky doing the analysis. I agree. They called a very good game.

Of course, I'm referring to the tv guys.

Some would say Yannity was fired for not being a homer.

Ever hear Eli Gold & Kenny Stabler? Never been more of a homer broadcast and it was fabulous.

All radio crews are that way. They are talking about who pays them and to their fans, not trying to be impartial.

You want impartial go to ESPN.....

Yanity wasn't fired for not being a homer...

Yanity was fired because the person who now holds that position had a much better relationship with Dabo. Nepotism and favoritism at its finest.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.
