Interesting note about first year starting QBs

Last year's NC game featured two first year starter QBs and the last two winners of the Heisman have been first year starter QBs.

Stoudt isn't that type of player. The more relevant lesson for Clemson is that a first year starter can be successful, especially if they're playing in a system that compliments their talents (ATM and Auburn really featured the skills of Manziel, Newton, and Marshall).

Cole is an accurate , cerebral quarterback. He is a 5th year guy. His father was an NFL QB for many years and has been his mentor thru the process of life in football . Most importantly I think , is that he is a selfless , humble young man with the correct attitude.
Stoudt is gonna be a great QB for Clemson and I expect for there to be NO dropoff from last yr as far as wins ....

my only concern with cole is how will he play after he has been planted by a 280 DE a couple of times. Will he continue to make big plays, or pull a Cullen Harper and run out of bounds every other play?.
Mechanics, accuracy, maturity, experience, he certainly has all of that, but a 13 game season can be rough.
I have high hopes for him though, cant wait to see him in athens.

I don't think that Cole will be a Heisman winner or anything. I'm just not as concerned as some people here. I think he can lead this team though and then we'll have what I guess will be an even better first year starter next season.
