It sounds as if his back is to the wall and when your back is against the wall there are only 2 ways to get off the wall. One is to push yourself off and turn this thing around but the other is to slide down the wall onto the floor. Let's hope it's the former.

We do but I think expectations went nuts early beating UNC like we did. Most of this board had us in the finals at Omaha after that series

Yep, they sure did. For whatever reason, we matched up well with Louisville and unc... the ND series was telling. Then, on top of everything, the injury bug hit and never returned, most notably the weekend pitchers from last year. Neither were the same after the injuries.

From my view, the type of play from the first half of the season was not much different from the second half. The difference was the poor clutch hitting, spotty bullpen, base running mistakes, and bad timing for fielding errors finally caught up and they started losing close games instead of winning, I wouldn’t agree with Coach Lee if he believes he had a national contending team at mid-season. I would concede injuries played a role in the losing streak, but bottomline he needs to develop players better than he has thus if he wants to go far in the post season.

But this seems like the kinda attitude that if shown all the time will have the roster playing tight. Seems as if he's to to force things to happen, which could have an adverse effect of players.
To me, it's not about the players on the roster, it's more about the lack of talent on the roster. When you're giving up over 7 runs per game, and you goal is score 7 runs per game, doesn't seem like a recipe for getting past the regional, much less super regional.

Excellent point.
Average pitching will not get you to Omaha.
Combine with streaky offense and awful base running.
We are VERY AVERAGE.

With basically the same team back except the 3 best hitters, CML has his work cut out for him.
The pitching no doubt should be better next season but we need a lot of work developing the hitters

Better pitching is a must have, and I would rather have a pitcher that can keep runners off bases for 6 innings, than I would rather have a batter that can hit 8-10 HR's a season!!! Great pitching usually makes less offense to not look so bad, IMO anyway....

I think he needs higher goals. Not being satisfied is quite an understatement considering the expectations of this Clemson baseball program.
