Interesting that the democrats and media complaining about bloated government employees being furloughed had no problem with Biden discharging military members for not getting vaccinated against Covid (what happen to my body my choice?)

Well I am pretty much an independent. As far as COVID vaccination requirements, I never had an opinion on that one. I was still learning what was going on with it. I was never worried about COVID though. Now back to reality. No I feel for these people losing their jobs. I feel for them and their families and don't see it as something to be happy about. Some people post as if they are thrilled. Is it necessary? Who knows? It's still not some happy go lucky deal.

I never even thought about that issue to be honest. I never understood the paranoia of the shots, but I didn't think much about it. Anyway, I remember when I was a kid though and my Mom, before she ended up marrying my Stepdad, lost her job and we had to stay in the car for a couple of months due to being broke. 2 kids and my Mom in the car. Two dogs taken to the pound. Yeah it sucked. She figured it out, but it was rough on her.. We were young so we didn't realize how bad it was. My Dad died kind of young, so he wasn't around to help. Anyway, I feel for people that lose their jobs. It's not some joke. Lives can be destroyed.

Let's assume that the staff reductions are appropriate for reducing the bloat and unnecessary spending. While I'm absolutely in favor of auditing and cutting the waste, I really don't get the reaction of celebrating the firings.
At the end of the day, these are real people that are losing their jobs, not just numbers on a page. Even if there is a portion of those people who were taking advantage of the system, there are certainly others who are just the victims of circumstance and getting cut through no fault of their own. Losing your job has got to be one of the most stressful situations a person can go through, especially if they have families that they provide for. To celebrate them losing their jobs seems sick to me.
Even if the job cuts are a necessary evil to ensuring a more efficiently run government, doing touchdown celebrations in the face of that seems classless. There's got to be better ways to spend your energy.

Zero empathy.
There are thousands of people who worked hard at their jobs and didn't hurt anyone. Their job loss came swiftly and suddenly. Some of them were Trump voters. To celebrate them losing their jobs and the pain their family's experience from it is pretty low and disgusting.
It takes a very sad and pathetic person to take pleasure in a stranger's pain like that.

I never like to see anyone lose their job, even if it's necessary. Someone who cheers on this kind of thing probably enjoys firing people.
I've been laid off before, and I'll always remember that feeling. My job currently is a monthly, if not weekly waiting game of jobs being shipped over seas or eliminated by super mega corp on its never ending goal to make numbers this quarter. Neither is a good feeling. And I've had to fire and lay off people probably 20x in my career..and it never brought me any joy--even when the employee deserved it.
I can't understand being happy about something like that.

I remember when my wife fired her first employee. The individual deserved it, but she felt like absolute #### for days. No decent person takes pleasure in doing it or in it happening to someone, deserved or not.

I had a business partner years ago who was "that guy" - he got off on firing staff. He'd been fortunate in building his business (yes, it was his, I know) - the model and intellectual property had been given to him. He always claimed he would pay that guy back by "buying him a Porsche" - needless to say, he never bought the Porche, screwed over several partners and staff, got his coworker pregnant (yes, she played her role). From there, he sold the company, got the same staffer pregnant again, told her he couldn't have #2 w/out a ring on her finger - ended up w/ 3 boys in about 4 years. You know how this story goes. Anyway, he fired her too (after beating her - and yes, she got half), lol - an impish unscrupulous man that had "grifted" before (selling nuskin, vitamins and dabbled with Amway) that business was started - had a number "hit", then shat the proverbial bed due to his ego and poor business and personal acumen. Some folks are just wired funny. TMI, but a fun story to share :/

So did my "friend" above - he did a financial # on me. Took my wife and me about 12 years to recover, but we did, and I'm proud of that - he hasn't worked since (though he needs to). Just a real narcissistic POS.

Cruel OP post, but I did get rid of a guy in my last job that I didn't lose much sleep over. He was a POS that was literally screwing over little old ladies. He was divorced and his kids were grown, so that wasn't a worry. I didn't fire him directly, but I did make his management fire him. I really wanted to strangle him when I discovered what he was doing.

He was let go with-cause, and it was absolutely the right thing to do.
Still, I know the guy has a wife and three kids. I know he was the breadwinner. Was it his own dumb*ss decisions and actions that caused him to be fired? Yes. Was it a stupid situation to put himself in? Yes. Am I disappointed in him? 100% yes, and I do NOT want him part of my team anymore.
But even with all that, did I celebrate it? Not one bit. It was an ugly situation with an ugly result that has caused pain for him and his family and created a pain-in-the-ass situation where I'm now down a team member and still needing my team to produce at the same rate.
What's there to celebrate with all that?

Seems there are some that may call themselves Christians but a smaller number that behave like Christians. It’s probably why Church attendance is decreasing.

If you find joy in someone losing their job, it's worth taking a moment for self-reflection.
But let's be honest—if that were in your nature, we wouldn’t see the flood of negative posts that so proudly showcase a lack of empathy.
