Injured QB argument against FSU is dumb

Do people not remember Cardale Jones and OSU winning it all? 3rd string QB. Certainly didn’t seem to be a factor in placing them in the playoffs.
I want Washington, Michigan, FSU, Texas, and Bama to win. That would gives three 13-0 teams, and then 12-1 Texas with the head to head over Bama. No SEC team in the playoffs. Glorious.

This has been my point to plenty of people. They don’t understand that a team may be more than a single position. FSU has a terrific running game and defense as well.

With Coleman and Wilson, you just have to have somebody who can throw the ball in the general direction. Alongside the run game, their offense is still formidable. However, I have prepared myself for FSU to lose tomorrow bc it’s just what the ACC does.

because one player got hurt. We don’t know exactly what they’re capable of and the whole eye test stuff is way too subjective whe you’re dealing with a game.
Cardale Jones and OSU is a great example of what can happen. An undefeated (assumed) P5 conference champion deserves a spot. I know it’s not a rule, but it should be.

Do we really think a single loss SEC champ gets left out though. I agree Texas' tie breaker should have them above Bama...but would the committee/ESPN allow it?

They’ve kept Texas ahead of Bama every week so far…

I get your point, but bama also hasn’t beaten Georgia yet. I think the committee would try to justify having them ahead since they would have beaten the number 1 team. Also they take into consideration how early in the season teams play each other and recognize things change. My honest personal preference would be for Texas to still get in over Bama. But again, I just can’t see them leaving out their precious SEC team in the case Bama wins.

The years since Trevor left have proven how critical a top tier qb is to our program.

2014 FSU certainly lends itself to that argument as well. They’ve squeaked by a few times this year. 14 FSU miraculously made it 13-0 and got blasted by Oregon in round 1.

If FSU has beaten Florida 55-3 and were to beat Louisville tomorrow in a similar fashion it wouldn't be an argument.
Sorry, it's not the same argument as Ohio State back with Cardale Jones. Now if FSU goes out and puts together a dominate performance, then yeah there won't be as much of an argument.
However, if they squeak by Louisville, you're telling me they're going to channel some crazy run? Sure, anything's possible but more like they get bulldozed as a sacrificial lamb against the #1 seed.
I'm not even against the principle per se of a P5 team not being left out that went undefeated because the kids worked hard and you hate to see this argument be posed but it is what it is - FSU so far without Travis is not even close to the same team.

Cardale didn’t even start until the B10CG. Obviously, if FSU loses tomorrow then it’s a moot point, but if they win by 14 or more, with a 3rd string QB, against a top 15 team, they absolutely should get in.

Yeah a 14 pt win would be better than a 3 pt victory. But Cardale and Ohio State were DOMINANT even though that first start was in the B1G Championship game.
If FSU does that it would be a moot point. Struggling against a 5-6 Florida team isn't gonna help, even if it's a rival so if they struggle against Louisville tomorrow expect more of the same which would be warranted.
That said, I hope they do win and in dominate fashion because if they do and Michigan, Texas, and Bama win....NO SEC TEAM in the CFP IMO

If fsu wins i think they deserve a shot at playoffs bit it will be A very hot topic for the committee to discuss. There will be a sec team in playoffs, I have zero doubt they will do their best cause if Bama beats the number 1 team , they are gonna be in it, I believe a win over a number 1 team , they will jump Texas None of this matters if Bama don’t win , or Texas or FSU
