Why to we rank so low on special teams by the "advanced metrics" like SP+?
Other than the punt team, we are beyond solid in all of the other areas. Potter has missed only one FG while being perfect on extra points. We have 2 blocked punts and a blocked field goal. Though the returns weren't necessarily long against Wake on the kick offs, the short kicks meant that we started out with better than average field position with a very good return thrown in by Williams. On our kick offs has anyone started beyond the 25 yet?
I understand that the ghost of Ray Guy has possessed the opposing punters for years and that our net punting is around 100th, but it is still tough for me to believe that puts us in the bottom half of college football.
