Pilot threw out the P3400 code about two weeks ago. Took it to the shop, replaced both oil pressure sensor switches, all good. Check engine light came back on a few days later, took it by auto store and same code. Was working the Masters last week so didn’t have time to take it back to shop. Drove around for a few days with no issues. Get in a couple days ago and check engine light has gone off, and is still off. What gives?

That's a cylinder deactivation system code. Did you ever put in that

It was cold when I ordered it, combine that with me being lazy af and it’s not been done. Maybe tomorrow. I have noticed that the car runs great when the check engine light is on. Does that turn off the vcm system?

MauldinT, where are you???

It should since it thinks the system is faulty.

I’d put that thing on ASAP. The system is the source of the code. It takes minutes to do.

RH Tig used to fly P-3400s in the war, but he doesn't like to talk about it.***

And I hope they didn't just randomly throw oil pressure sensor switches at that

code without other testing. That's not usually a code that indicates sensors, much less two of them failing (I'm assuming they're right that the car has two without doublechecking that). They also could have taken the sensor out and checked the pressure from the same hole with a gauge and also checked resistance on the sensors to confirm if they were bad or not.

Long story short, I think you have some lazy or incompetent diagnosticians throwing parts at your car.
