I'm Saving David Hood

From having to hide in the bushes at Dabos's mansion.
Saban will retire on or before the 2025 FB season.
Dabo named Alabama HC for 2025 season or when Saban retires.
Garrett Riley named Clemson HC for 2025 or when Dabo goes to Bama.
If this all happens for 2025 season, Oklahoma and Venables part ways. Venables is hired by Dabo as DC at Bama.
Dabo will hire the best OC available. No way he will want to fail, and he will contend for natty his first year at Bama. Dabo will coach at Bama for 10 years and break Saban's records.
Clemson will be in the SEC in 2025 or much sooner.
Crazier things have happened in College FB.

Yard tiger is just trying to cause a debate. Do you actually predict this to happen?
I could see Saban retiring any time. I honestly can’t imagine working in this business for another second if I was him. The success he’s had…being the GOAT…with the money he has…at his age…with all the insane changes to college sports…I’m shocked he’s still doing it.
No way Dabo goes to Bama.
When he retires, I bet he hand picks BV to replace him. Maybe TE. BV it would depend on if he’s having success at Oklahoma (ie, if he’s established his program he will stay at OU). Dabo wouldn’t worry if he struggled at OU. He would believe in him and our AD will probably agree. If not, TE would come no matter what he’s accomplished at UVA. Riley hasn’t established that he’s Clemson yet.

Yeah...based on the players, I would say my prediction

is far more likely than yours.
I could see Dabo retiring in 10-20 years, in which case TE is a highly seasoned head coach. Most people don't expect Garrett Riley to stick around that long, or long at all. Of course, who knows?
But even if Dabo left or retired in 2025, you're talking about:
TE: 7 year OC with 2 national championships and 6 playoff appearances 3 years at a head coach in a Power 5 conference Broyles Award Winner
GR: 5 years as an OC, one playoff appearance Broyles Award Winner
Keep in mind that I'm not saying I prefer this or think it is the optimum solution. Just my prediction of what would happen. I think last season supports an argument that our offensive woes during TE's last season here had more to do with personnel than with TE.

So you’re also predicting no playoff appearances for Clemson in the next 2 years?

retired and then refuting the idea that TE getting the head coaching job at Clemson over GR is unreasonable by comparing their current resumes. I could predict GR gets us to the playoffs but with our talent I’m not sure what record UVA would have to get to to be a comparable achievement for TE (9 wins? 10?) So I don’t think I’ll get into that.

I believe that TE is an honorable standup guy and Clemson alum, but, I don't think that I would want him to be the football HC at Clemson. I would probably give him a shot as the basketball HC bc with him as the basketball HC, he could probably get us to the NCAA tournament as many or more times than Brownell has as our Head basketball Coach....

Silly move for Dabo. Whoever follows Saban will have to win immediately. Think he stays until he retires in Clemson

If Dabo plans on retiring as a FB HC, his best bet would be to stay at Clemson until he is ready to retire. I agree that anyone coming in to be the HC behind Saban, they will have to win at the very same level as Saban immediately, or they would be shown the exit door within 2 years if they didn't. They wouldn't wait until all the talent that Saban left on the shelf was gone before making a change!!!

It just isn't happening.
Especially, with Clemson joining the SEC in 2025 "...or much sooner".

Wrong on all counts. Veneables has a great class coming in. Hope we don't dirty ourselves and join the SEC.

The biggest PLUS for Clemson moving to the SEC would be with recruiting. Dabo has missed out on some very good high 4 star and 5 star talent only bc Clemson was in the ACC, and most of that talent went straight to a SEC school like Bama, LSU, and UGAY. Most of them said as much when they committed to the SEC school that they committed to. They would say that they loved Dabo and Clemson, but they wanted to play in the SEC where the NFL got the most of their talent, and they would have a better chance of being seen in the SEC!!!!

According to this (admittedly dated by one year), Clemson ranks 6th in number of players drafted into the NFL. And the ACC has three teams in the top 10. The SEC has four (5 when Oklahoma joins). So some kids might say that they dream of playing football in the SEC, but it is hard to justify the argument that it will get them more exposure to the NFL than coming to Clemson does.

I've heard the same and I get the same feeling about Clemson recruiting in the SEC vs. ACC as you have.
The recruiting dis-advantage for Clemson would disappear, and our recruiting would improve. Whether we end up in the SEC, or BIG, I have no idea. But, as far as recruiting goes joining the SEC would only make life easier.

With all of the success he has created, Dabo could get the Head Coach job at any university in the nation - including Bama, Ohio State, and UGA. Whether he wants to go is up to him, but those schools would be more than happy with the hire.
I hope that he chooses to stay at Clemson his entire career. I understand that he grew up idolizing Bear Bryant and Alabama Football and then lived in that program for more than a dozen years.
The main question is whether he places more value on following in the footsteps of whom was likely his childhood idol or continuing to cement himself as the greatest Coach in College Football history here in Clemson, South Carolina.

whoever takes over for Saban will be a contender their 1st year. Even Larry Shyatt could win 10 games with that talent.

get it so mixed up? Nick Saban will step down as Bama head coach in 2025 and Dao will hire him as a defensive analyst. Clemson will enter the SEC in 2026 where Dabo will finally open the portal as he accepts the numerous former 5 star Bama players that inevitably follow Saban.
You need better sources.
