Culture over wins?

Culture seems to be winning the battle over wins these days. Not long ago these two lived in harmony and produced a great harvest. Sadly, it seems the seed has been tainted along the way and the fields no longer bear good fruit. Paw journey and all the other great things dabs has built is now bigger than the president can stomach to risk losing. Maybe bigger than the institution itself. It’s pretty obvious that dabs has more of his vision that he wants to see happen during his reign of control and the powers to be are still all in on that happening. Just hoping for a shift to rebalance.

There’s a saying in business “culture eats strategy for breakfast”
My question is what is the current culture within the football program?

We can change the culture. Hire young women on the “recruiting” staff. Oh and have them taking players out to strip joints. May want to skip the part about a player and young woman dying in a car wreck though,

To contrast, I see a few posts saying they'd take Kirby over Dabo.

But do you really want a 41% graduation rate of your players and a half dozen arrests every preseason? If you do, then you're saying wins are all that matter as UGA seems to be.
Maybe there's a happy medium. Maybe we could take a chance on a few more risky players that may get arrested and/or may not graduate or stay, but would help us win. We've had a couple like this already with Henderson from Belton this year and Kendrik from Rock Hill that finished at UGA.

But, we also aren’t dealing with student athletes anymore. We’re dealing with paid professionals who still attend some classes. There’s a big difference in expectations as a result.

Exactly. Sadly the days of the student-athlete are over. These are now professional athletes and college football is now a business.

No, don't won't Kirby method. Profound statements you made. Interesting.
I'm going to paraphrase the announcers on the vandy/coot game.
They were talking about the vandy coach and how he was trying to change vandy way of thinking. The coach said "culture is the right way to do it. It's important to affect young men positive and make them better men, better husbands, and stress the importance of graduating, community service etc. But that vandy had prioritized that aspect of sports but in the process, forgot that winning was also important and the two could co-exist... " said people laughed at him when he talked to the team about winning a natty.
It really made me think. Dabo loves to quote his history and what we've accomplished in the past. Have we become complacent? Are we self fulfilling by sacrificing winning... 🤔
A lot like what Shaq said. We do have a lot of pretty boys on the team. No dogs. So, during our heyday, we DID have a few more risky players. We had some dogs. Imo, a lot of truth you said.

Dabos system worked great pre-NIL

Parents were willing to send their 5* kids to Clemson because Dabo’s system kept them out of trouble until they were drafted and made millions. Now kids don’t have to wait four or five years to make their millions. 5* kids are going to go where the paycheck is the biggest and sadly that is not Clemson.
