Outstanding. At first glance I thought the reflection off the stream was a big tigerpaw propped up.

maybe 35 or 40 years ago. I climbed a ladder stand with a pallet on top to sit on. Froze my you know what off. I mean...FROZE!!!! I sat up there until about 9:30 and started shaking so I figured it was time to man up and take my ribbing from my buddy I went with and climb down. When I stood up, I literally could not feel my legs from the hip down. I was not about to climb down if I couldn't feel my feet so I bear hugged the tree and slowly did some deep knee bends for about 5 minutes...Finally, I got some sensitivity and and ambled on down...and then remembered my buddy had the keys to the truck...so....I did what all punks do....I built a fire.....Never been so cold in my life.

I don't hunt at all anymore either. COLD is the reason I quit Duck Hunting. I said, if I have to be this cold to shoot these things, LET 'EM LIVE!
One of the first and last times I went Duck Hunting was pretty comical, though. The pond I sat around the edge of was frozen over. Watching ducks try to land on that thing just after the sun rose was funny as all get out. The ice was thin enough on one end that they could break through, but on the other end, they bounced off.
I was such a novice, I had a shotgun I had just had restored, with a 32 inch long FULL CHOKE barrel on it. It was more of a Turkey Shoot gun than a hunting gun. My brother-in-law and his brother were in a blind in the middle of the pond. I reached out and touched a duck that was so far away from me, it fell in the blind with them, and they started laughing.
The only bird I shot that was real close to me turned out to be a Coot. A headless one, my close pattern shot blew its head clean off.

Sounds about like that flying squirrel I shot with a 20 gauge slug one time.

I found a head attached to four feet, with a giant hole in between.
(I had just pulled my Dad's 20 gauge out of the closet, and didn't know he had it loaded with slugs. Pretty good shot to hit a flying squirrel with a slug, if I do say so myself.)

some thick green briar in the swamp. He was about 10 to 15 feet in front of me. I had a Remmington special field 20 ga. with a 21 inch barrell and Imp Cyl. That bird came right back over my head like on a #8 station on a skeet range. I busted him. Looked like I had shot a feather pillow. Well, Stupid could not find him anywhere and I kept saying,"hunt deaauuuuhhhd, deaauuuhhd buhhrrrd..."...Finally I saw him just a few feet above my head in some kind of wild shrub. It was a male bob white with only his head and wings....My pattern couldn't have been more than 2 inches wide....

That’s right. I have a few of those type pictures I have gotten over the years. They are all of the same thing but all look very different (clouds, location).Great picture!
