They student body has organized a purple out for fans.
There has been no official mention of the team wearing any purple.

They never said they'd wear them at the Citadel game. They always keep purple jerseys in the equipment room, doesn't mean they will wear them.
The last few years they have worn them in the off season to things like the BBall games when they honor the FB team. Awards ceremonies, etc.

Which I got at the Spring game has purple out under the citadel game. So it was made known at least by then
