"being bored". We lived in the same apartment, had same friends, frequented the same places, lived basically the same lifestyles. But I don't think I've been bored a day in my life. There aren't enough hours in the day for me, always something exciting and stimulating out there, something to look forward to tomorrow. I don't like sleeping because that is time wasted not doing something. I have TOO MANY hobbies and pastimes (always have), it's frustrating that I can't get to them all as much as I would like. Golf, fishing, backyard projects, farm stuff, shooting the guns, concerts, baseball/softball, football season upcoming......SO MUCH to do and accomplish out there.
That roommate experience showed me that boredom, or "a rut" as you describe it, is a self-created state of mind. The difference between me and the roommate was he needed to be entertained, whereas I am able to entertain myself. It's solely up to YOU to do something about it.

I've had:
Some "Pure Romance" branded stroker that my wife got me from one of those parties that girls have. It was alright, but it wore out pretty quickly.
Replaced it with a blue stroker from Amazon called "Hello Cake Stroker". It has a hole on each end, one tighter and one looser. It wasn't bad. Pretty durable. Too many options on the market, though. I wouldn't buy again. I still have it in the stable, though.
Then I upgraded to the Stoya Destroya fl3shlight. It's big. Like about the size of a 64oz big-gulp cup. Texture is good. I wish it was tighter, but it's 1000X better than the cheaper one's I've had. Currently battling some mildew issues... If I was a swinging bachelor, I could air-dry it, but I'm not afforded that luxury in my current living situation. As long as my wanger doesn't start to mildew, I think I'll be okay.
but but but, while searching on amazon to remember the name of the blue one, I found something called "CTKOLYS Realistic Underwear Hiding Gaff Panties". You guys gotta look these up. Probalby don't want to use a work computer. Holy crap this is funny.

It was nice last night just to go for a walk while MIL watched the kids. Didn't need logistics, how to get the kids to come with us. What route to take to keep an eye on them. What mode of transportation they would take to keep up etc etc.

Either way, play UNO Attack. That will really get you out of a rut. Then play another board or card game as a family, but not Monopoly. It will just feel like another bad rut. Then listen to music together, tell stories, and eat good food. Oh yeah, and do movie night sometimes with popcorn and candy. Sit on the front porch or back porch and sweat a little, but make the most of it. Get a bird feeder too. Then get really, really comfortable in the new rut you’ve created and enjoy yourself.
