Yes he is a hot head but football is an emotional game and Yes I agree he went over the line and i support coaches decision to bench him.
However, I still think Clemson is better off with Kelly at the helm than CS. I love how responsible Cole is and all he has done since he has been here at Clemson. However, I think he is similar to what we did with Will Proctor who played starter in his 5th year senior year. Not saying they are same but Proctor also lacked the 'wow' factor Cole does.
Cole lack the running game something Kelly can provide, we saw last year in a game when we decided to stop running Boyd (due to fear of injury in one game) our offense become much easier to stop by the opposition. Similarly, we saw the damage Coot Conner Shaw (an descent qb with great legs) caused in oppositions game after game.
We need somebody like Kelly and his over believe on himself in situations where we are down by 21 with a little more than a Qtr left to play and not game manager like Cole.
If Cole is the starter then I hope Dabo should insert Kelly in such desperate situations where his cowboyism could be of asset and not liability.

Are you kidding me, like I said 2 months ago, Kelly is Farve-esque and that doesn't bode we'll with the loss of our playmakers from 2013. I think he will settle in , but Stoudt is by far the more experienced and smarter player and with our D that will be the key to a successful season!!!

Sure, Cole is solid but in some games when chips are down Kelly is the type of QB that can lit fire under offense his self confidence and he is the type that can rally a 2 or 3 TD deficit. Cole is too traditional QB that doesn't fit perfectly with the offense Morris run. However, he is a great game manager and we can count on him to seal many games.
I am not saying he should be starter, what I am saying is that Coach DS should not be hesitant to call his number in such situations thats all.

I love Kelly and his fire and I know he didn't have a great day, but I think his time will come next year. This offense isn't easy and I think by next year he will be right there to take the helm. He needs to be ready because as we all know injuries happen and he will need to step in! I love our QB situation and we will be just fine.

problem is not is his talent, but his attitude. He just forgot who he is and his relationship to and on the team. When he learns to let the coaches coach, he'll play more and play better.

I'll play Devil's advocate.
If we are down by 21 with a little over a quarter to play,you might want to consider using Kelly on "D" because we probably waited to long to pull Stoudt and put Kelly in.
The decision to pull/replace a qb should be made when your down by 14/17 and before the end of the third quarter.
