I heard one official from a Big 10 school say on a You Tube channel several months ago that Notre Dame, Clemson and FSU are the only three that move the needle for their TV partners FOX, CBS and NBC with big time rating match ups.
He didn't mention any of those others.

I would much rather stay n the acc, keep playing a softer schedule and keep going to the playoffs. It’s a MUCH easier path👌

Nice troll If we played in the SEC east we would always be ranked even when we lose. The only team right now that moves the needle is Georgia. GT was robbed last year from changing that narrative. TO be in SEC east means one tough game on that side and one cross rival team. Top heavy league and they play Cupcake U for their out of conference schedules

Just a friendly reminder. Just because a conference may be interested does not mean FOX Sports will approve of it.
"Conference office administrators created a list of desired programs thought to be attainable, according to multiple sources who have seen the list.
They included Notre Dame, North Carolina, Clemson, Florida State, Pitt, Kansas, Cal, Stanford, Arizona, Virginia"
ND obviously was a no from their end. North Carolina is obviously going to the SEC. Florida State I've talked about for the longest time now. Stanford and Cal got rejected by FOX Sports. Notice there was no Miami on the list and no Georgia Tech.
But now that western expansion isn't in an exploration stage, and the next additions for more growth for the conference would be the long-time desire of eastern/southeastern expansion, we still have Clemson and Florida State from that lists. Virginia doesn't have the interest from FOX Sports.
So when you hear of people say so and so school to the Big Ten, always make sure to remember and say/ask "ok, but what does FOX Sports think?" Don't forget that.
Note that I'm not saying Clemson and Florida State are both going to the Big Ten, simply saying this is a reminder of how things work and for the why you have to know the both sides of this to know the what will transpire, not what could transpire. Any person can throw this and that could happen to the wall and be "right" because they throw every option to the wall, but that doesn't mean they actually know anything because if you don't know the FOX Sports side of things, then you don't actually know much of anything.

From a monetary standpoint, the only schools from the southeast that matter are FSU and Clemson. Miami is close, and in the Big10 may work with increased viewership from the opponent (the fanbase of the opponent also matters). UNC only makes sense if you think “brand” matters- but apparently when the ACC signed the deal with ESPN in the first place, brand did NOT matter. They pay for viewers. Only FSU and Clemson bring those. And they do that BETTER than the west coast additions of the Big10. Breaching SEC territory for ratings and recruiting make this a home run for the B1G.

Culturally we are probably the most SEC non SEC team. However I think we may be better off in the Big 10.

If we do go I would much rather play in the BIG10…the SEC is a meat grinder each week.

The closest team in the Big Ten is Maryland. Its 380 miles away and

takes 6 hours to get there and when you get there, you’re in Maryland.
I realize we are talking about adding us AND FSU, which would add a school that’s a convenient 5.5 hours away.
I know the horse is basically a skeleton at this point, but man, I cannot believe what we’ve convinced ourselves is “better”. Football in Minneapolis in November. Zero day trip road games. Zero cultural alignment. Zero geographic alignment. A conference of mostly state flagship schools of 40,000+ undergraduates.
I’m not trying to be naive. They’ll do what they have to do. Just crazy.

My hypothesis has been since TX and OU went to SEC...

.... that Fox and ESPN will get together and decide how to divvy up the teams. When (not if) Clemson and FSU leave the ACC they will go to the conference that ESPN and Fox have agreed for them to go.
