Remember taking my 10 year old Son to see them in Charlotte at Southpark in 1980..and 20-30 yrs earlier for me.
Use to be like seeing your first Elephant up close due to their size.

I am always thankful anything that big is gentle. They are great fun to see for kids and poarents. And even grandparents. I too the g-kids once whent they were like 4-10 in age and they were mesmerized. The g-kids stood just looking at them quietly for about 30 minutes while they were being hitched up.

Those horses live a more privileged life than 95% of people in this country, including me! Sign me up for my next life Pull a wagon 2 Days a week and get fed oats and apples the rest of the time. Not to mention all the breedIng that’s expected of a stud like that.
Yeah...that’s a tough life. ??

The ones on the teams are all geldings....
They keep very few studs on the farm (only) with a few select breeder mares and sell the rest of the males and females.

Gee, I was hoping they could play OL!
I saw the spare 2 Clydesdales at Darlington Raceway last year as the others were in a parade in Florence. It was hot then and I hope it cools off some for the parade.

Back in early 80’s they were in Clemson in a parade. A girl I know was pretty drunk and she climbed on one of the Clydesdales and rode it briefly until she was arrested.
