Dabo mentioned in his presser that they weren’t playing their assignments and I think they got that straightened out during the game. They also put a spy on Daniels which really helped. Stanford calling the Reverse on that 4th down play was a bad idea. Running a reverse against speed rarely works out for the runner.
In the end the only stat that matters is the score. I say run up and down the field between the 20s all you want. But you ain’t getting in my end zone.

explanation.
Dabo and we get great benefit from it. Our youth get experience and our starters are forced to either give up a score or work as if the game is on the line in a high pressure situation.
Our coaches get film to study on everyone. That gives them ammo when they review film with all the players.
It surprised me that we got such a jump on our opponents in the last two games.
During the years we made the playoffs we always had tight games. That is wonderful of the most important reasons we tortured teams in the last part of those seasons.
The freshmen are not freshmen anymore and are better at helping the starters stay healthy and fresh.

Their OL bested our DL on designed runs and poor angles from the LB’s.

Yes. Just inexperience with the fill in. I believe with more PT he would be serviceable but looking at some replays the D was just not even in position to make a play till the guy was 5 yards down field. Also took a while to adjust or if they did they just could not execute getting the needed leverage especially on that left side.

Paying the price for not recruiting/developing the DE position well for about 4 yrs now. Parker is talented but was also struggling to properly set the edge on his side at times. Notice in the 1st half our LBs were not disciplined to hold their gaps as they tried to compensate for the poor DE play at tge edge. That just created more problems. Rumpf has alot of work to do to get this corrected. Woods was always considered a band-aid. He helps stabilize the situation but the right solution was to get aggressive in the transfer portal last January when this issue was visible.
I wonder if Goodwin will have to abandon the 4-2 alignment as a counter measure. Our safeties aren’t exactly thumpers that can become the extra LB at the edge. Teams have the film from what Georgia did in the 2nd half and so Stanford saw opportunity to exploit especially without Woods. Goodwin should have been prepared for that, and certainly by now must understand he has to scheme around a clear vulnerability. Thankfully, the secondary bailed out the defense in the red zone or Saturday would have been a 4 quarter dog fight.

play-calling that the DC just can't adjust to during the game. (Remember the Pitt shovel pass? The SC 550 yard pass yardage game?)
I don't know enough about Stanford to know if they always run that crisscross run play (if they do, then we should have been ready) - if that was a new wrinkle, we couldn't adjust.

We adjusted pretty well at halftime. Were not ready for those plays in the first half.

Love the incompetent announcers. Their excellent observation was Stanford was running all over us. However tell the dynamic duo we at the time we’re up by 20. Wtxxxx

They changed their entire playbook. Definitely caught Clemson off guard. Clemson did adjust though. Gave up roughly 180 in the 1st half. Only gave up really a they 55 in the second half.

All I know is I saw LB's on multiple occasions take themselves out of the play over pursuing as well as the DE's losing containment on the outside. Just a lot of bodies out of place at the wrong time

Everyone seems to believe that every team is a finished product when the year begins. Dabo’s best teams have slowly coalesced and improved over the course of the season. Isn’t that what you want? Not peaking in September but playing best ball in November?

offense. Think of the years against GT until Venables figured it out. It requires a lot of discipline at each level not to leave their gaps and get caught out of position.

I really believe Stanford just has a solid ground game.
Lot better team than I anticipated seeing.
New teams have actually been better than the cellar dwellers we have year after year.
