scheduling instead of some of these cream puffs we've been playing in the past. At our level now, we need to be playing in the "big league" regarding our non-conference games (except the Cockks who we enjoy whipping up on).

That's not going to affect the small in state schools we tend to schedule on top of all that. It'll be no different than the past several years....where we've scheduled games against UGA, Auburn, Texas A&M, & even Alabama (yes, we lost to them in regular season back in 2008, played in Atlanta in August)

Future Schedules listing and you'll see who I'm referring to. Wyoming, UConn, Troy, etc, etc.
And of course I'm for playing the in-state schools occasionally. But if we have to schedule non-conference out-of-state teams, I want Oklahoma, Georgia, etc. and not the kinds of team I mentioned above.

there is a drastic change in college football. If you go over 2 P5 non-conf teams in a given year then you are giving up a HOME game from the schedule........that's not going to happen

This is exactly the same model we’ve been following for many, many years now.
8 ACC games
UofSuC
Marqee P5 opponent
FBS Group of 5 opponent
FCS in-state opponent
Nothing has changed Tiger7
That said, great to see OU on the schedule as that P5 opponent.

mid-level FBS each year.
They don't plan to stray from that formula. If the ACC is forced into 9 conference games at some point which would suck, because it's the non-UCS P% game that will likely get the boot(with the exception of the ND contract playing out). The only year the formula is lacking is 2021 where we have UCONN instead of a P5 so that non-conf schedule isn't going to win any SOS contests or impress the committee. There was a 1 year gap that needed filling with no return game.

How do you know that 16 years from now both Clemson and Oklahoma won’t be cream puffs? Do we really think Dabo will still be here when he is 65 years old? With the pressures of college football, I doubt it. We may have 4 super conferences by then and the ACC and other conferences may not even exist. I won’t get too excited about this until it happens. Seems like we have had other teams scheduled in the past that got cancelled for one reason or another ( Ole Miss comes to mind ).
Plus if AOC has her way we will have to drive a horse and buggy all the way to Oklahoma just to attend the game. It’s way to far in the future for me to get excited about it.
