It is super exciting. A great world
Cup thus far. Germany was eliminated. France looks strong once again. The United States defense is stout and the team is more athletic than anyone they’ve played, including England, whom we scared a bit. Things are looking good. USofA’s greatest athletes would be there instead of pursuing careers in basketball, baseball, football, golf, etc.
It ain’t so important and if another game of soccer was never played I would never know it. Of course I can say that of about every professional sport. So what do I know….

The average salary in the Major League Soccer is now at $500,000. Senior players make $1M to $2M and the top franchise player(s) earn $3M to $6M a year now.
Is it NFL or NBA money? Nope. But 10 years ago the average salary was only $150k. Soccer has more kids playing it than football, more than baseball, more than basketball… you figure out the future trajectory.
My dad didn’t like soccer but I was only the US Olympic development pool and my club team was ranked in the Top 25 nationally each year, ending #5 one year. We played top clubs in England and he saw me travel the world playing. It really changed his tune. If he can change, so will many parents.

Several players on Team USA play in the Premier League. They are young and will be around when the US is a host in four years.

I love it. But it's barbaric.
Our kids' small HS struggles to field a football team but their soccer roster's a mile long.
Kids more and more dont want to go through life punch drunk.
I suffered a couple of concussions (that I knew of) and destroyed a knee playing football.
Not worth it. At all.

People say. It’s a far more capitalistic sport than any American one at the club level. The very top clubs utterly crush their competition with mor money and power. There is no socialistic salary cap or draft system that we have in our pro sports.

I enjoy watching the US play and improve. If there is a game don't want to watch, since I am rich, I just grab this fancy advice called a remote control and check out one the hundreds of other options.

with NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. I successfully DIDN'T watch Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, the J6 Trials, or the Johnny Depp Trial. I'm telling you, it's easier than you would think. The trick is to not turn that thing on your TV and then not sitting there and not watching it.
I do feel for everyone who doesn't like soccer. It is frustrating that the biggest single-sport sporting event in the world is marketed.

conditioning it takes to play soccer, but that's as far as it goes. Any game where you get a penalty if you use the most useful appendages God gave you is just beyond stoopit to me, and always will be, no matter how many marketing campaigns they throw at me.
