In today’s college football environment, with all the temptations to buy your way to the top, it’s Dabo Swinney.
I’m not saying that it can be done, but whom can you think of who has a better shot? The man has integrity, love of the game, love for his players, and love for Clemson. I hesitate to even mention moral character, but I must. Winning at any cost just isn’t in Coach’s make up.
I mightn’t still be a fan of college football were it not for him. With all the strife and divisiveness in the world, taking time to follow the sport seems to me kind of frivolous, a distraction away from critically important issues that well may determine whether or not we still have a viable country and world.
So, I support him 100%. He’s stubborn, yes, but what effective leader doesn’t have a streak of that? So far, he’s done pretty da*n well. If and when he finds that his system doesn’t work anymore he will retire from Clemson. He won’t wait to be fired - he’ll know when it’s time to go.
