for the rest of his career there needs to be an investigation. He’s a bull out there and he’s a handful to bring down. Shipley should be used sparingly, especially if he just had a concussion , and Thomas should get 5-10 touches a game. Anything else would be ridiculous. Mafah is the kind of back defenses hate to tackle repeatedly. He punishes them and it usually takes multiple guys to bring him down. If you noticed, the pile is always moving backwards.

Shipley should be used extensively … same as Mafah … as long as there are no health / injury factors in play.
The situations when Shipley is the better option vs when Mafah is the better option are not identical.
If, like today, our OL and TE blocking is very good and we are not in a must pass situation, it’s hard to argue against Mafah getting most of the Carrie’s.
On days when the OL and TE units aren’t making good holes, then Shipley is better at squeezing through the cracks. Shipley is also better on designed outside runs.
The good news is that both Mafah and Shipley can do what the other one does especially well. There is no ‘formula’ in which a defense can predict that our offense will run a particular play, regardless of whether Shipley or Mafah is in the game at that time.
All that said, I hope the remainder of our games allow for a run heavy offense with both Mafah and Shipley getting ~ 20 Carrie’s a game, and with Quadzilla getting a handful as well. About 40 to 50 designed run plays per game would be our offense’s sweet spot.

Man, there is zero situation where these guys are equal! Mafah is the better option. I for one want Shipley to Ship out! He is immature and the team doesn't play well around him. But hey let him.take rb 1 carries and see for yourself. Magah is an nfl guy because of size and durability. Shipley has tried and cannt win a game by himself. Magah just carried this team today!!

Show me some plays this year where Shipley did a bunch of damage in the slot. He had 4 receptions against FSU, but 4 receptions since. He's also averaging 3.7 yards per carry against FBS opponents this year. He's just been bad all around.

Even the tackles Thomas broke everyone of us knows that Shipley would've went down at the first touch. Not saying that Shipley should be our 3rd back, but I'm sure saying he shouldn't be starting.
