So long story short this guy is a total diack and he always asks me to bill items at the end of month that are not included in my monthly goals or the goal is unattainable for compensation. The company set up a new compensation structure a few years ago where I get paid month to month based on goals and such, also has salary. He sent me an email last Friday bc he was mad I didn’t bill items that would help his compensation but did nothing for mine but would have hurt me for October goals and 2024 sept goals. This was my response.
“I checked my SPP goals and hit the ones that I could based on the compensation structure set forth by the company. I also sent some real sangria, TWG, and St Mich on goals that were not attainable for me bc it was requested.”
“Have a good weekend. Aka Fauck you.”
He emails me today to meet him at the office tomorrow at 9am to talk about this email. I’ve already had to Go to HR in the past about this D bag and they told me he can’t make me bill items that only benefit his compensation and not mine.
So I then sent an email to same HR lady today that was very well worded and explained it all. I’ll spare you the long lengthy email. I’m so tired of this ahole and he clearly doesn’t like me either. It’s quite the toxic work environment since this guy took over.
Also do I record him tomorrow in the meeting? SC isn’t a consent state to be recorded as long as I’m the one recording and I of course have my consent. Only one party has to give consent.
Second this guy is the worst and I’d rather take a sharp stick in the eye than ever sit down w him and hash things out. At this point he hates me and I hate him, he won’t promote me further bc of it. It seems like it’s time to look for new employment but that’s just what he wants so I’m better off making his life miserable through the proper channels and letting him know he can’t do this shiat to me.
My wife does legal compliance for a large corporation so I have the upper hand as far as the laws and what I need to say for HR trigger words such as hostile workplace etc.
Just wait him out, miserable people will eventually move on. Or fabricate a complaint of sexual harassment against him.
Hey here’s a question only you might know the answer to. I’m interested in pursuing a side hustle of providing concierge wine service to a small group of family and friends, something that could potentially be scaled up. How hard is it to get an import license from TTB? You have to get special labels for whatever your importing and get a COLA for each individual product?
But it’s a three tier system so if you wanted to sell it yourself you would also have to have a distributor license unless you just wanted to sell to another distributor already active. You do have to register each individual product w the state as far as type, alcohol content, place of origin. That part really sucks especially bc every new vintage also has to be registered. Which is why all major inexpensive brands go non vintage even though they are still separate years, they just only have to register once.
You also have to have a warehouse to house the wine and it can’t be your garage. Very small outfits just rent a small temp controlled storage unit that they use for this purpose. It’s also illegal for the distributor to cross state lines w product without first cross docking at an in state facility. This is where your storage unit also comes into play as a supplier or a distributor.
It wouldn’t be that hard if you put your mind to it. The first wine company I worked for was a 40x20 storage unit off clements ferry road in Charleston. Had one driver who received the product from the shipper, and he also delivered the product to the stores. I was the salesman and I merched the product after delivery. That was the whole operation for the low country and I sold a decent amount of wine (about 250k-350k worth a month). But I was also selling to every Harris teeter, any piggly wiggly worth a shiat and any restaurant downtown that would let me in.

Better pay but a lesser title. Although I do know the VP and the GM very well here. So it’s not like I’m some scrub and my opinion doesn’t matter. This guy is between me and the VP as far as title.

Do you have in writing that HR told you he can't me you bill items that only benefit his comp plan?
