Does Brownell get a lifetime contract?
I would say it's pretty darn close of an accomplishment to Clemson winning the national championship in football, possibly a bigger one.

I'd love for it to happen just to see what would happen on this board.
Brownell would be golden until the next loss then it'd probably be back to fire him and how we'll never be good with him running the show

it would mean he finally did something worth all the extensions and raises he's had.
I would be extremely happy to say I was wrong about Brad. I want Clemson basketball to be better. If he's figured it out in year 14 great. I also believe that short of winning ACC championship or the NCAA championship he doesn't deserve another extension or raise but no one cares what I want or believe.

We've now won 20 games 4 of the last 7 years.

Purnell won 20+ games 4 seasons in a row prior to Brad taking over. Not exactly a hole Brownell had to dig us out of.

That’s definitely useful when comparing his 7 years of service to 14. Keep sputtering it. How many round of 64 victories did Brad have in his first 7 seasons. You do realize the “First Four” didn’t exist during Purnell’s tenure? He also coached in a 12 team league that has less low quality teams to rotate through. The ACC’s SRS from 2003-2010 is markedly higher than it has been from 2010 to present.

No one's ever thought to offer Brownell a job. How does an "elite" coach never get sniffed for a job?
Since Brownell took over at Clemson, the following teams have won the ACCT:
Duke (more than once)
Florida State
Miami
Virginia (more than once)
Notre Dame
North Carolina
Georgia Tech
Virginia Tech
Clemson has never played for ACCT title under Brownell (did once under Purnell).
Georgia Tech won it in Josh Pastner's 5th year, and he has since been fired.
Virginia Tech won it under Mike Young's third year as HC.
Duke most recently won it under first-year HC Jon Scheyer.
Notre Dame won the ACCT in their second year in the ACC.

Correct! I quit worrying about it. Some folks just think differently is all I can say. Wish and hope he would or will lead us into consistent success but after 14 years I’m just not convinced. Prove me wrong, I’m good with that. At the end of the day I just want to be in the mix in the ACC and NCAA tourneys. No more NIT’s. Winning that means absolutely nothing.

Not true at all. Nothing wrong with thinking CBB has done all he can at CU and we need to go in a different direction. Just like in your post above, the LF like yourself can’t be honest about it. Trashing our coach during the season yet claiming you support the team, never giving him credit for his accomplishments, blaming him at all cost, never admitting our program has always been mid at best and using the word mediocre when he has performed above that word are all examples

I believe he is talking about UNC’s awful team back when they beat them the first time.
Not many Clemson coaches ever faced that kind of NC team. A win is a win and happy about it.

Meh, a Sweet16 appearance > ACC Championship + NCAA Tourney round 1 loss.
This is one of weaker fields in the history of the ACC conference. Not taking anything away from the fine job CBB has done this season but that is a fact.
Fwiw, I'd wouldn't trade 1 Football NC for 5+ consecutive MBB NCAA Tournament Championships(or 100,000 consecutive WBB)—

That would be amazing for sure, but still hope we'd stick with the one-year extension for now, which would put him at 5 years remaining. Brad winning multiple games in the ACCT would be a first for him, and his teams perform better during hot seat seasons such as these past two, so I'd hate to see that element taken out of the equation.
As someone eloquently mentioned in a post earlier this season - "one Robin doth not make a spring." While we're having an exceptional year and there is a lot to look forward to ahead, it is still an exception to the norm.
