IF BB was out as coach who do you think could.......

step in and get the program in the top 4 of the ACC in a few years? What coach has the coaching ability and the recruiting ability to make this program a top 4 in the ACC? Be realistic and take into consideration all of the new opportunity of the (NIL) deal in place that I'm sure is not being utilized at Clemson with the basketball program.

1. You do realize that the HC has nothing to do with NIL, right? At least they are not supposed to
2. Coach K

Yes I do but do you not know that there are colleges that have put together opportunities for their athletes to make money? Percentage of profits from jersey sales and and so on. A coach can have influence with these type of opportunities happening.

No college has done that publicly. It's against the rules and potentially downright illegal.
Clemson has addressed the NIL in what might be the most progressive way of any school in the country with our Reign program. Read about it below.
I don't think it's a coincidence that our recruiting is doing quite fine lately. These kids are not deterred by our market or their earning potential.
https://clemsontigers.com/clemson-announces-nil-program-reign/Clemson Announces NIL Program, Reign. CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson Athletics and Director of Athletics Graham Neff are proud to announce the next generation of the Tigers’ Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) programming dubbed “Reign.” Clemson’s multifaceted program is aggressive, comprehensive, education-focused and suited to the ever-changing landscape. "We've talked for a while about our intent to become more aggressive in the NIL environment, and I feel that Reign. personifies that notion," said Neff. "While many of these services have been available to our student-athletes since last year, our department has worked tirelessly to evolve our NIL philosophy. It's critical that our student-athletes have the education and tools to succeed in this area, and that our coaches have a direct way to address the questions they receive on the recruiting trail. NIL is ever-changing, and we will continue to monitor, adapt and innovate.”

Note the word realistic and coach K is not unless you are talking about coach Keats from NC state. I doubt that he would be a great replacement for BB

No not at all. My point to this post is that it would be difficult to replace him and get what a lot of people who post on this board think is easy to do. BB has a lot of obstacles as the Clemson BB coach. Some of them are getting taken care of so I strongly believe if the program wants to obtain lofty goals they need the facilities in place and with the new AD it's happening. So my point to this post is I don't think there is a realistic candidate that can put them in the top 4 with the current salary that would be acceptable to the trust at Clemson who handle this. Brad does need to step up and I am not sure how often he goes after 4 and 5 star recruits but he needs to start landing them soon. I am all in for BB as coach he has accomplished things that NO Clemson coach has done. Under all circumstances he has done a good job just not good enough for all the complaints that many have for him.

there are a number of coaches who could do a good job. a key factor is look for a coach who built a program at two or more stops. that is what Rick Barnes and Oliver Purnell did. BB inherited a good program at UNCW, and had basically one decent season at Wright State, and the three years after that was in a really bad conference with a bad schedule and didn't even sniff the NIT those last three years.

Wrong on all accounts. Brad helped build the UNCW team. He was the main recruiter as well as the top assistant that is why you are wrong. He didn't come from a different program. Also wrong about Wright State
2007–08 Wright State 21–10 2008–09 Wright State 20–13 2009–10 Wright State 20–12
Get your facts straight.

Did you know?

Did you know Brad Brownell is is the 38th highest paid coach in America? He's come a long way since UNCW. Congrats to him. He's set for life.
Problem is, Coach Brownell has only led the Tigers to top 40 finishes twice in 12 years, and one of those times was his first year when he was playing with Purnell's players. So he's made the top 40 essentially once with his players, and he's paid the 38th biggest salary in country.
I like Brad. He's a good guy, and he's done a great job in every measurable... except win. I would love to see him magically turn it around, but realistically this will be his last year as a high level basketball coach. How is UNCW's coaching situation?

How is the coaching at UNCW? Right now they are in a great coaching situation. Similar to Brad talking over at UNCW from assistant to head coach, Takayo Siddle has done the same with a BIG difference that there was a coaching group inbetween the time he became the coach. During that in-between time the program suffered while C.B. McGrath was the coach. They fired him and brought in the assistant from the prior coach, coach Keats who is Takayo Siddle. The program is back to being in a top spot last year winning the league record but losing in the league tournament finals.

I completely agree with you. We have been a middle of the pack ACC team under brownell, and it's really hard to get over the hump. There were quite a few times we were right there. Under brownell, we have performed better than we have recruited. Common sense would tell you if we could get better players, we could get over the proverbial hump.
To answer your question seriously, I don't think there's a realistic option out there. I would guess that anyone we could realistically get has about a 10% chance of being a consistent top 4 ACC basketball school.

a realistic replacement considering all variables that would do better than he is doing under these circumstances? Top 4 in ACC? If no viable replacement why the hate? nctigs you fail at your attempt to make BB look like he just was given UNCW, (Note: like the other poster who put up my first post on this board) like he came in from another program. If you did a little research you would see I am a UNCW grad and know the program extremely well. I know Brad was a major reason why Jerry Wainwright was successful and he had a lot to do with the recruiting of Brett Blizzard. So nice try and also with the Wright State attempt.

Very relatable, highly admired, and a rising star in the coaching ranks in the NBA. Loves Clemson bigly, and can actually relate to kids how electric Clemson basketball can be given the right vision and mindset. He'd bring a much needed physicality to our program in recruiting, and an attitude based around winning instead of around excuses as to why we can't.

for going ahead and pulling a name for the OP. There are likely tons of coaches who have the tools and willingness to take Brad’s job and do better. Saying otherwise seems kind of . . . disingenuous?

Whomever can recruit. X’s and O’s seem to not be as big a factor when you have 3-4 that can consistently score the ball.
Brownell may be as good as it gets with the talent we have in place. X’s and O’s means a lot more to us than to a Kentucky or Duke who can just dribble down and create plays on their own.
