This is a solid outcome and acceptable. Means you have to win at least 2 in each (so semis and sweet 16). In fact, chasing the acc title with 4 games in 4 days is detrimental to the big dance.

Win one game in each tournament. Then we are done.

Expectations and hopes are 2 very different things. Sadly, I have no expectations. I guess I am hoping for, as someone else said, a winning record in each tourney.

I just echoed this response in another thread before reading this. I always have hope but it has been hard to expect to get wins with this team's inconsistency.

The expectation is for people to stop using the best ever phrase. Winning over 20 games is an accomplishment that should be celebrated anytime that happens. Historically, we are a program that is barely over .500 all-time so make life easier and be happy with our season.

We've already demonstrated that 20-wins seasons do not really mean what you think they mean. Consider SCAR's current record of 25-6, why are they not ranked higher? It's because they have played 16 games against Q3 and Q4 (and lost two of those), so 14 of their 25 wins are against Q3 and Q4 teams.
Clemson is slightly better, as only 11 of their 21 wins are against Q3 and Q4 teams (against similar 2 losses to Q3 teams).
The ACC is down this year, and against any team with a pulse, Clemson loses as many as they win. Clemson has one singular notable win: at UNC.
When people say "best ever" they are not talking about the record, they are referencing the fact that this is--on paper--Brownell's most talented group of players. He has several consensus 4* players on the court, he has the 3rd best 3-point shooter in the history of the ACC on the floor. Four of the starting five are all 4th and 5th-year seniors, plus Chef (junior). So the team has a ton of experience to go with the talent.
But with all that, Brownell's "best team ever" still managed to lose a handful of real headscratcher games. And managed no better than T5th and the 6 seed in the ACCT.

As a fan, I want them to win every game.
But given past history, I will not be at all surprised to go one-and-done in both. I wouldn't call it an expectation--and is CERTAINLY not something I want to see. I'm just saying, yeah, it could happen and it would not be at all shocking.

You realize you're siding with the guy that has written that Clemson lacks the potential to ever win a championship at basketball? That's the side you've chosen coot. Find a different hobby.

Clemson needs to make the Semifinal game in the ACC tournament and win their first NCAA tournament game. With this team, anything else is a bust.

Tired of this "well, if we show we tried hard that's almost as good as winning ..." This mentality is a typical Gen Z everybody gets a participation trophy mentality. Let's not hurt their self esteems ....

Honestly, I expect to win at least one game in each. From there is icing.
