This BB team was good. Good enough to beat Kentucky, UNC, and Duke. But of those three "powers" only Duke was a good team this year.

Why do you think the basement dwellers of ACC football always seem to have their best game against Clemson? Because the name "Clemson" has become elite in the college football arena. Inferior teams play "scared" against Clemson because they know they can't afford to make a single mistake. Their preparation is more intense. Their attention level is higher, their routes are crisper, and their tackles are pure and effective.

Clemson Basketball plays "scared" against big names. As such, they have found success. But when they play a team they should easily defeat, there is NO FEAR and their play is sloppy, unattentive, and always of the idea that we still have time to beat them. Sometimes, (Georgia Tech, Louisville, McNeese, etc) you wait too long to accept you're getting beat. Kind of like Clemson Football did with USC this year.

Good coaches occasionally beat great teams. Great coaches became great by beating teams they SHOULD beat.

I'd have to say I disagree. To me,

we played extremely scared and tight for the first 30 minutes. When it was apparent we were too far behind to catch up, they finally said "###" and started playing loose realizing they had nothing to lose at that point. Too often Brownell's teams have exhibited this behavior. He doesn't seem to be able to know how to get his team loose and aggressive, especially when playing as the favorite.

These guys aren’t kids…. These are 20 year old men and they are responsible to bring their own fire to each game…. I personally put this on the players and Brad only had a few bullets in the chamber to get around this let down…. Agreed he could have tried a could have additional adjustments, but there are ADULTS playing this game…. I’m not buying the narrative on this board.

The first half happened because the team was poorly prepared

That’s the coaches fault. Players were also expecting to blow their doors off. Poor attitude all around entering the two tournaments.

Only Zachary came to play but he couldn’t carry the team himself.
