Is this behavior indicative of the basketball team?
What is suspicion of DUI?
Schef should be dismissed...Swinney did him a favor. He didn't earn his way to the team. In my opinion this is not a freshman mistake that a young kid made and can be given some grace.

This gives others an opportunity to get reps so that they can contribute. He was not going to be with the first unit, maybe rotating in with the 2nd unit in certain situations. You can’t miss what you never had. I wonder who else was with him?

How can two people drive a car while intoxicated?
There is a policy in place and it will be followed. Hopefully, he and others will learn from this mistake

Well he wasnt gonna play unless we were up 30 anyway so I dont really care what they do with him. His story has been a mostly irrelevant distraction this off-season. Nothing else.

The basketball team is morally decadent and could corrupt our perfect family atmosphere in football!!!

Ian is a good young man but young people make mistakes. I always find it funny how some on this board act as though they were perfect little angels growing up.

He made a big mistake and will be punished, as he should be. If I remember

correctly Sammy Watkins sat two games for his issue, which wasn't exactly the same but was an issue that needed to be addressed. I'm glad Dabo is going to handle this and not some of the folks I seeing post that he should be disowned. Either there are a lot of glass houses around here or a lot of folks are perfect. I don't have to be perfect, thanks to the Man upstairs, but I do have to try. Ian can learn from this.

A freshman wouldn't be of age to consume in the first place. Should know better, though, for sure.
'Suspicion of' says he likely refused breathalyzer. Smart legal move if so.
Context around arrest and conditions are important as to future with program.
Disappointed to say the least, but success in life is largely about what you do with 'learning moments' (unless you're from big $$$ then it don't really matter) from there.
Go Tigers.

Well, “Suspicion of” is not convicted of … don’t send him to the gallows until it plays out .. however, if you do ride, you do pay the fare ..

This is what I'm puzzled by.... arrested on "suspicion" of DUI. Like, did they not test him or how does that work nowadays?
Figured it'd be something like failed a breathalyzer or sobriety test but it's just.... arrested for suspicion. Idk if the less said means it's worse or what.

I would say the majority of people 18 and over have drove under the influence at some point in their life. It's just something you can't do, it just takes that one time to mess up your life or someone else's life really fast. Hopefully this will be his first and last.

Im 50 year old, my wife and I have friends that we love to go out and drink with. We ALWAYS pitch in a get an Uber. DUI's these days are very avoidable. This is dumb decision and he is lucky no one was hurt. He was given a great opportunity, and is lucky! I say 3 game suspension and automatically a final warning. If anything else happens he is done.

You are 100% correct. There are many options available to avoid this situation. Uber, Designated Driver, Taxi, walking, to name a few. However, this is a national problem with many people dying every year. I believe that if the SC Hwy Patrol wants to, there could be many arrested after every game especially with legal drinking allowed during games this year. At some point the server and establishment are going to have to be charged with over serving to people that are definitely drunk. How will Clemson regulate this situation in the stadium?

I could have been arrested about 300 times if they would have cared about that in the late 70s to early 80s. Therefore I am not judging. Learn and move on.
