I wouldn’t blame Hunter Johnson a bit

If he announced tomorrow he was transferring. I know that he wouldn’t but wouldn’t blame him if he did. Just absolutely no excuse as to why he wasn’t given a shot unless dabo announces some sort of injury that wasn’t known.

I agree based on the brief appearances and performances by Z Cooper and H Johnson in WF game.
My takeaway from that game was that HJ is truly a 5 star QB. I was startled when HJ was not allowed an appearance in the 'Cuse game when we were obviously in big need of an offensive boost. I know we pay our coaches big $$$ to make these decisions, but playing a hobbled KB and then seeing that ZC was not providing the much needed spark I'm scratching my head.

in practice. What has you sold he deserved to be in over Zerrick? A garbage time drive against Wake? Every qb looks awesome on garbage time.. see Schuessler last year.

If HJ can win it in practice, I'd love to see him play. But 1 drive doesn't tell the story.

I didn’t say he should be in over Zerrick. I said he should have gotten a shot and by out playing Zerrick the entire season in games he DID earn a shot. IMO his performance last week was enough to earn the #2 spot much less “a shot”. I can somewhat understand them sending Zerrick out first but after it was obvious that Zerrick couldn’t move the offense down the field and do what we needed to win (which was well before the 4th quarter) Johnson should have at least been given an opportunity to either show what he’s worth or fail. Instead it was stoudt/watson all over again.
