Clemson going. Clemson over Mcneese at? Win Clemson for Purdue/High Pt. Win that and get in Sweet Sixteen, Clemson vs Huston/Ugay/Zags. Win that potential elite 8 vs Tenn/Illinois/Kentucky. Final four potentially would be against Duke/Zona/BYU. Which teams would be our best shot to play to make it to the final 4. Not gonna happen but getting past McNease then playing High Pt, Ugay, Illinois, then BYU in final four. lol..

If we lose in the 2nd round that will stink, but it would be against a higher seed. I don't think anyone expects a 5 seed to beat a 1 seed, but we certainly can do it.
I think we are 50/50 to make it to the Sweet 16.

This is my thinking too.
Ideally, we make the Sweet 16 or higher but there ain't no gimmies here. We lost a good dude in Dillon, really need our 3-point game to hit its groove, and outside of the first match I think we'd be underdogs the rest of the way.

It's a 12-5 matchup. Every year these sports websites throw darts at upset picks and the 12-5 is always the upset matchup they circle, for whatever reason. Every 5 seed is on upset alert according to these websites.

I did a couple different brackets. I filled each of them out with different strategies, including one where I just flipped a coin for every game... I wanted to see which bracket gets the most games correct.
In each of them I have Clemson getting to at least the Sweet 16, and in one bracket I have us in the Final 4. But honestly, McNeese is a hot pick as an upset team right now, and for good reason. So I wouldn't be all that shocked to be a 1 and done team either. I think we got a favorable draw and when we play our best basketball there is nobody in the country that we can't go toe to toe with, so I'm excited for the tournament to start.

Sweet sixteen is possible, hard ask to beat Houston though. So losing to Houston in the round of 16. I think Houston is better than Allbarn, maybe even Duke. Florida might be the best team right now.

Would love the opportunity to play you guys, but we got a tough row to hoe. I think your guys will beat McNeese then probably beat Purdue. Gonzaga will be tough enough for us, then we'd get 1 seed Houston. That's pretty brutal. But if we can pull the upset, based on common opponents, I think we'd match up pretty well vs y'all.

I remember one of my high school buddies filling in NCSU in the 1983 bracket; there was less of a chance of that team (6 seed barely beat Pepperdine in the opener) winning it all than Clemson this year.

Think we got tough enough opponents opening weekend, but McNeese & potentially Purdue are winnable games.
Getting beyond that will be tough, especially with Houston looming as the potential Sweet 16 foe. But really hoping our guys can find a way to equal/surpass last year's run - alot of that will depend on how they adjust for Dillon Hunter's absence.

Purdue isn't a bad 4 seed to get. Much better than getting Maryland. We're actually 1 spot ahead of them in KenPom for what that's worth.
McNeese is the 3rd lowest 12 seed in KenPom (59th), and way behind UC San Diego (36) and Colorado State (42).
Any games beyond that are likely to be really tough. If we do make the S16 I'd LOVE to get Georgia. Houston is 3rd in KP and Gonzaga is 9th - UGA is way down at 34. Loooong ways to go before worrying about a S16 matchup though.
