Wish our receivers ran after the catch

Like these receivers are tonight, several times they’ve turned a 5 yard pass into a first down. Everyone wants to harp on Cade but who’s taking his check downs or screens down the field like this??

defenses play off of the Ducks WRs. Nobody is scared of ours at the moment.

Both teams have had the WR caught in the backfield and the WR has made a play out of it. We use to take screens to the house.

We make it look like the defense has 22 guys out there.

The one Washington receiver put a Renfrow-esque move on the OR DB and broke his ankles, but Penix overthrew him. Fowler said it should be 17-0 😂😂

The ball has to be put in the right spot for that to happen

No doubt our receivers have some improving to do, but far too often Cade puts the ball in a spot where they have to spin around or turn behind them which lets the defense recover enough to make a stop.

Or they have to go to the ground making the catch.

Far too often Cade puts it on the money and they straight up drop it. He’s far more accurate then yall want to give him credit for

Cade’s accuracy this year is nowhere near that of either QB in this game; he’s not even the top half of the ACC. We need him to be a difference maker to get where we want to go; he’s not there yet.

You are correct. Drops and not fighting for 50/50 balls have been an BIG issue the last 3 years. Not just this year. But we have also had a lot of passes thrown that the receivers and running backs have to go to the ground to catch. AGAIN, not just this year, but for the last 3 years. And unfortunately, a lot of those passes were thrown at or behind the line of scrimmage. Plenty of blame to go around.

we can't throw down field. It just allows the D to play their corners up tight and be aggressive with their safeties because they know we're never gonna burn them over the top.

You start hitting deep shots, the corners and safeties both start dropping back deeper, and suddenly those short passes are more effective and start getting YAC.

Our offense has just been playing in a phone booth and it's difficult to watch.

It’s different when the defense starts with 8 guys in the box and Cade “checks it down”. Where in the #### are the receivers supposed to run? We need a downfield threat like these teams that stretch the defense and provides some room for the underneath routes to run.
