But I do not believe Dabo will ever win another NC, but I believe Clemson will. That is not a judgment based out of hate. It is a realistic view that Dabo may never have the opportunity to match the best coaches and the best talent for the right time that led to our run. Most people are lucky if they get the stars to align once in a career but few get that opportunity to align twice in a career.
I will be very happy to be wrong but as Dabo said himself, “people don’t realize how hard winning is.” And I think it is even harder to go to the top of the mountain, fall back to the bottom, and then climb back to the top again at the same program.

No problem. Fire Dabo today and get on with that next natty. Un-freaking-belevable

No one is saying fire him. Give him every opportunity but recognize how difficult it will be to repeat the same success with the same program in a different era. The odds are long and difficult to repeat that kind of success and to go full circle.

Agreed. The odds are small. So why wait? Un-freaking-believable. Again.

It's hard to win a national title. Bobby Bowden only won 2 for all of the great years he had.
I hope Dabo can get things turned around.

Same with the leader in coaching wins, Joe Paterno.

I think another year is in order to see if he can stop the 3 year downward spiral, if he can't then it is probably time to re-think his future with Clemson.

Please continue to sign me up for 11 wins and an ACC championship in year 2 of every "3 year downward spiral".

The only question is how long will we be in the ACC? I guess no one knows for sure but that would not be as certain in the SEC.

You may not be seeing the big picture if missing the playoffs, beating a middle of the road ACC team for the championship and getting wacked by a middle of the road SEC team in the Orange Bowl is encouraging.

I do expect us to get back in the CFP especially with the 12 team format.

Well, hopefully. We’ll need to climb out of last place in the ACC … fewer fumbles only ain’t going to get us in a 12 team CFP ..

You seem to miss the point "Dacusville" is making. If you think Dabo will never win another NC, we're wasting valuable time keeping him around since everyone wants to win more NC's. So following that logic, it'd be best to go ahead and fire him so we can get on with the coach who is going to win more NC's. I absolutely agree that winning another NC will be difficult. But I don't see it as any more difficult than winning the 1st one at Clemson. We had a long way to go when Dabo was hired. But he got us there. And I believe he will again. It's a consuming passion of his, and we should be grateful for that. Instead, many are sitting back taking "cheap shots" at the guy who took us to the mountain top. Everything Dabo said to Tyler was entirely true and appropriate. He's won so much we've become "presumptuous" about winning. That's not healthy. Winning at anything is hard. As such, we should appreciate it more. And we should appreciate those who help us get there. I do. "Tyler" does not! And he knew he was being disrespectful. Why else was his voice cracking? Dabo will lead us back to The Promised Land. That will define his legacy at Clemson University, and in all of college football. So thanks in advance Dabo! Press on! Go Tigers!

I did not get his point the first time around but I did get it the second time. Part of my opinion is based on the unknown. For example, how long will we be in the ACC? If we change conferences, where do we go? Do our odds get tougher in the SEC? Will there be another major reorg down the road and how will that impact us?
All of these new challenges seem to make it more difficult to do it again with all the unknowns out there.

Have to disagree on one point. Bama has died a couple of times and risen from the grave. Ohio State, Georgia, Auburn.......they all run in cycles. Such is life.

That is true but not many have gone through that with the same coach, which was my point re: Dabo and why I said Clemson would win another NC but not Dabo.

Dabo's era of Nattys isnt where college football is now and Dabo has failed to adapt. Like all things business, sports, or otherwise if you dont adapt you wither on the vine. Dabos "conviction" to not adapt has me concerned if he will even try. Hope we're both wrong, but if his press conference double down is any indication its not looking good.

Let's be real and clear. There is nothing rational about EXPECTING another national championship. If there are any of y'all out there that are, you are living in fantasyland.
However, I don't think it is unrealistic to expect 9+ win seasons regularly - and to win the state championship - and to compete for the ACC championship - and to be in the conversation about the National Championship. Those are all goals that we should be able to expect regularly.
What concerns me is that our programs seems to have had problems for the last 3 years that are really manifesting themselves this year. And Dabo and his staff don't seem to understand or recognize what those problems might be. The betting odds right now would have us finishing the season at 6 - 6.
If this year is an anomaly and we return to some semblance of the expectations above, then I will be one relieved & happy Tiger. But I cannot overlook the possibilities that we lose some key players to the portal - that we have some critical de-commits - that we don't have adequate replacements for our graduating players.
This could just be a solar-flare kind of year - or it could be the year that the whole shebang fell apart.

Only 8 coaches in the 97 years that the AP has crowned a national champion have won more than two national titles. So from that perspective it would seem like it’s a safe bet he wouldn’t - even without all present distractions. But, it is actually overwhelming more likely that Dabo would win a third (8 of 20 to win 2 won a 3rd) than anyone who hasn’t would ever win their first 53/1,000+. 40% versus 6%.
