Sugar, Cotton, Rose, Fiesta, Orange, Gator and Peach, the Gator and Peach are probably the least prestigious. With that said, it's still an honor to get into one of the "Major Bowls" this season. This invitation is evidence that the Clemson brand still holds a lot of sway in college football.

yeah, i can remember earlier in the season when various pundits were predicting I think North Carolina would grab the Gator and Clemson would wander off to the Sun bowl. "Are they crazy?" I thought. Gator Bowl will take Clemson any opportunity they can. It's the brand, and the traveling fan base.

a 4-4 team that was playing as poorly as they had since before Coach Dabo Swinney arrived.

I mean seriously, the team was playing very poor football and making a bowl was not a given....but our coach restored order for a 4 game win streak to end season and playing better football.

And yes, the Gator Bowl is a nice bowl....just wished it was not at noon while I work

Clemson tends to have the highest rated bowl games because of our supremacy over SEC teams and orange was voted the #1 color in America in a recent poll. Today should be no different.

You are right except that I counted seven bowls in your post. The Gator will always be special to Clemson fans. I was there in ‘78.

So was I! It was a wonderful evening! I sat with my late brother and we were worn out after that game yelling for our tigers! One of my favorite experiences….
