I watched the SG live and then rewatched the highlights....

I do see some slight improvement in the ability to move the ball and get the ball downfield using the middle of the field. Cade is still making terrible decisions though. No clue why on earth Pearman is 3rd string and not 2nd string. Vizzina is just flat awful. It still seems Grisham isn't getting his WRs to play to their talent level. Too many dropped passes, missed blocks, wrong route and at times even when the ball isn't thrown perfectly they should have come down with it and didn't. Yet again he's a liability. Wesco is going to be really good but will be limited in his potential because of his coach.

I’m praying he’s (Westco) one of those rare guys who can succeed regardless of who his coach is.

A lot depends upon the O Line, since you bring up WR's. That's a fact.

Interestingly, we continue to draw conclusions based on incomplete and deceptive info. With the team divided, route running is bound to be mistake ridden. The QB, with several first and second team WRs and TEs on the sidelines, is handicapped on both O and W teams. Play calling can be considered biased in favor of those elements coaches deemed necessary and fundamental only, so playbook restricted severely……for many reasons…..including not giving your first opponent this fall too much info.

no excuses. These aren't freshman out there running the wrong route or missing blocks or dropping passes. It's coaching period. Stop with the excuses.

aren't isolated. They've been happening in real games the last few years.
Some people here aren't willing to accept that it's coaching, and if they are, they seem hesitant to publicly blame them. Instead, they blame injuries, bad luck, or the wind blowing the wrong way.

Tell me how a coach can make someone catch better. You can practice it. You can teach it. At the end of the day, some players catch better than others. If everyone could be taught to catch like Nuk, then Nuk wouldn't have been special.
Now, route running is different; however, there will still be players, like Renfrow, who are just different.
Route recognition is more complicated. That requires the QB and WR being on the same page. Sometimes it might look like the WR is to blame when the QB made a bad read.

I don't understand why Vizzina is struggling so much.

He was one of the top QBs in his class. He was invited to the prestigious Elite 11 camp. He was a 5 star recruit for much of his recruitment, and had offers from a lot of programs.
We heard last year that he was struggling more than expected. Since then we've heard that he has been improving and is pushing Cade. The spring game didn't reflect that at all, although we must keep in mind that it was a scrimmage and we can't glean too much from it.
As I stated in another post today regarding Cade, it's not just about the spring game. It's the entire body of work. And in Vizzina's case, I am curious to know why he isn't looking more like Pearman did and seemingly hasn't at any point in college. I think we can agree that we should be better by now. Was he overrated in high school? Did we misevaluate him? Has he not had good coaching?
I assume it's a combination of these things, but it's frustrating. I think we all know that every QB can't be a Deshaun or a Trevor, but we should be recruiting on a level and be running an offense that allows the offense to be consistently good. We haven't had that for several years now, despite multiple offensive coordinators and multiple different QBs.
This is why I think we need to use the transfer portal. We could've gotten a talented QB to compete for a starting job. If he doesn't win the starting job, he would provide quality depth. Instead, we are stuck with what seems to be another year of a starting QB who can't figure things out, backed up by QBs who aren't viable options to play and contribute.
