Mark Richt at halftime

69

Sep 16, 2023, 9:59 PM

While Mark Richt may be tough to listen to with his slow speech, I really am proud of ACCN for including him in their team and the respect and patience that the others show makes me emotional every time I watch them. I saw my dad fight Parkinson's for 19 years before it finally took him - hoping Richt continues for as long as possible with ACCN and brings awareness to such a tough disease.

I know not exactly Clemson football related, but since they are covering tonight's game, though I'd post about it.

Go Tigers!

I had a dear neighbor that died from Parkinson at 92. She didnt
contact it until her early 80"s and it took her down pretty hard.
May God Bless Mark.

Mentor, coach, etc for his son it would be Dabo.

I'm guessing he was giving Dabo ultimate praise or a very nice compliment.

Yep. My grandmother had Parkinson’s and her neighbor across the road also. Terrible disease. Hope Coach Richt can keep going as long as he wants

I was thinking the same during the Huddle pregame. MR brings value added commentary and isn't just a pumper.

Lost my wife of 55+ years 4 weeks ago to Parkinson's. God bless those affected by this terrible disease. My wife fought it with all her might for 10 years.

My mother has it and has dealt with it for several years. The physical toll is horrible. Growing old is challenge enough, but the loss of dignity makes it terrible to see. The fact that, mentally, you see yourself physically decline, takes a toll. Throw in hallucinations and, well, you get the picture.

I pray for peace for all those dealing with it, either themselves or the loved ones taking care of them. Hope Mark Richt does get to work as long as he can.

The ACC is probably getting a tax break for working him.

2

Sep 17, 2023, 10:39 AM

Don't give those idiots that run the ACC any credit. They're bad enough already.

and possibly longer. That disease ravages the mind, body and all that comes in touch with it. I'm proud when I see Coach Richt still doing his thing and though it takes a little longer hr us still sharp as a tack.
Until better treatment or a cures are found for those degenerative diseases all I have for Parkinson's is a big eff u.
