I mean am I watching the video correctly? This guy simply outruns the other team like they are standing still. It is like a video game or something...

He has that sneaky quickness and ability to accelerate and change speeds very quickly, which throws defenders off and makes them miss. Then, he has that unreal open stride and simply runs by people. Of course, these are high school players and they will be a whole lot faster when he plays against division I college players.

I was wondering the same, to the point that I looked up

to see if he played at a lower level in Alabama, but it's 5A, which is their second division, so the competition can't be *that* bad.

Love to have a guy committed to just returning kicks and punts so we are not putting sammy back there to get hurt.... but wouldn't mind seeing a screen to this kid either.. Glad we got him... Welcome to Tiger Nation!!!!!

It is just me or are you making the point that you expect...

Jan 27, 2013, 1:35 PM

this kid to be used in a limited fashion or as special teams fodder? Why would you assume that to be the case... is it because he doesn't have enough "stars" and the recruiting services consider him an "ATH?"

He could end up being a star WR/DB for all we know.

That is not the case at all.... His stars have nothing to do with my thoughts about him being a key player on special teams.
What he was told by the coaches and his intangibles make me think that! Green said the Clemson coaches told him he would start out as a main cog on special teams - as a kick returner - and then see if he fits into another spot like wide receiver or safety.

Does that not make you think that the coaches would love to have him specialize at kick and punt return? With a 6-4 frame and with good strength and conditioning he will have a great build and speed to be a major weapon on special teams.

and I pray he becomes a star at WR or DB or safety... I want all our recruits to become stars!

no coach ever wants a kid to specialize in kickoff/punt returns. Especially not a kid who's 6'4.

Gotcha, point taken. Go Tigers.***

Well, I think it might be because he said the coaches told him he would be returning kicks and working on special teams and might work his way to playing other positions.
I don't see anything wrong with his post at all.
